Mökki means "cottage" in Finnish. Enjoy your time in a special place surrounded by nature. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho, which is blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, and there are many natural places such as Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi nearby. You can freely use the comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, the natural garden that creates seasonal scenery, and the forest where the stream flows.In the forest that we have been maintaining, you can see small birds, squirrels, and raccoons, and you can enjoy strolling around looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. We also paid close attention to the interior design and kitchen utensils to make sure you can enjoy 'living'. At the gazebo by the stream, you can enjoy a BBQ or campfire without worrying about the weather. It is ideal as a base for hiking, fishing, paddleboarding and golf in the green season, and as a base for winter sports in the snow season. Baths, outdoor baths, and hot spring facilities are also within walking distance. There is also a shower room in the house. The renovation was attended by Studio Sayapu led by Mr. Kitazawa, an artist based in Nagano.Focusing on Mr. Kitazawa's sensibilities, the company's craftsmen brought out the power of the old private house and finished it into a space that quietly accommodates sophistication while making use of the taste. It is cool in summer and in winter you can enjoy skiing and snow scenes.While surrounded by nature, time passes as you gently prepare yourself. Instead of being a place to stay at the end of a trip, the accommodation itself becomes the destination of the trip. Enjoy a special time that can only be had at a small, secluded inn 🏠🍃 ⸻

This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

Montefino- a mix of Japanese simplicity and warm European architecture. A well insulated eco-house utilising hydronic heat pumps for underfloor heating throughout the building. It occupies the top floor. The drying room is at the main entrance and is shared with the ground floor apartment. Parking is available on request.This apartment features a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom. Montefino is close to the village centre, public onsens and the ski resort- a perfect base in Nozawa!

Nozawa Onsen Basecamp #201 NEW Two Bed Two Bath

Contemporary Japanese design two bedroom self-contained apartment located in quiet area halfway between Oyu Onsen at the center of the village and the Nagasaka Gondola, snuggled in a pocket next to the mountain. 5-10 mins walk to both Nagasaka gondola (about 300m) and Hikage bowl area (400m to Yu-road escalator). Similar distance to the village center shops, cafes and restaurants. Comfortable for families and small groups of 4-5 with or without children, maximum 6.

15 min to Togakushi- A private log house in nature

Koshikake Home is a hand-cut log house on a 1,000m highland, about 25 minutes by car from Nagano Station. Surrounded by nature, it offers a quiet and private place to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life. Zenkoji Temple and Togakushi Shrines are nearby. Iizuna Resort and Togakushi Ski Area are both within 20 minutes. Hakuba and Snow Monkey park are easy day trips. Your Japanese-Canadian hosts speak both Japanese and English and are happy to help during your stay.
