Great private location, a few miles from Whitby and at the doorstep of the North York Moors. Diana was responsive, attentive and an all around perfect host! Would definitely stay again!

We had a great stay – the house was lovely and the hosts were incredibly welcoming. They kindly offered us a later checkout, which gave us a more relaxed morning. We booked with Sara & Tom on a whim for a nearby Sunrise Solstice Swim, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt five-star. As soon as we pulled into the driveway, they greeted us so warmly and welcomed us into what truly felt like a little oasis. After our swim, breakfast was beautifully and perfectly timed. I barely touched my phone during our stay — the whole experience felt like a peaceful retreat, with just a hint of Downton Abbey charm. My favourite moment? Seeing Tom in his pink apron, playing the perfect host. It honestly felt like we had our very own butler at The Little Abode. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thank you for the best stay ever!!

I had a lovely stay here. The location is excellent, Tesco Express directly opposite, within easy walk of places like The Deep, and various museums and shops. I was very cozy when sleeping, but a bit cold during the day. I was also warned of the noise from the street on Friday and Saturday nights, but I had no issues getting to sleep. Glenn and Alan were friendly and attentive throughout the visit. I was here for work on this occasion, but I'd love to visit again if I do some backpacking in the area!

Absolute gem of a stay! Such a clever extension, beautifully decorated, thoughtfully designed to have everything you need and with loads of beautifully crafted items. Pru gave us eggs, bread, homemade lemon curd and some other bits when we arrived which was such a nice touch. Very clear instructions, recommendations for the local area and very responsive to our questions. It was our first stay away on our own with our 10 week old, and Pru provided a beautiful (handmade!) moses basket for our baby to sleep in as well as a little basket of sensory toys for her, which she loved! She was kind about the crying and the space felt very separate from the house due to the use of the porch to split into two houses. I would recommend this AirBnB to anyone! Unique and beautiful space close to Hull, Beverley and an easy drive to the coast.

Perfect stay at Kate’s from start to finish. Kate was helpful, friendly and responsive and even ensured I had a DVD player to watch my training videos. Lovely private spot and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend!

Incredible room, great value for money. The location was only 20minutes walk from town, in a lovely remote area. The room was large, had great facilities and I would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed staying in the pod, the location is absolutely perfect and incredibly peaceful. Adam and Emma were great hosts and were really accommodating responding to any queries instantly. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a relaxing get away.

Gorgeous place to stay - we were here for two days, and it was perfect. I'm disabled and have mobility problems, and this was such an easy place to stay. It's super accessible with a walk in shower and very easy to get around. Loved it. We were here to see family and everything was perfect. It's probably the cleanest place I've ever stayed on Air BnB, and we felt very welcome. The milk in the fridge was such a lovely touch because we got there late on Friday. Really well equipped and lovely place. Would very highly recommend. Karen was a lovely host, very responsive and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much!

Stunning location, beautiful lodge with every detail thought about. Fiona was quick to answer us when we had a question. We had the best time and it was clear that Fiona takes pride in her accommodation and making sure people have a fabulous time. There were lovely little touches that made it special. We can not wait to return.

A lovely short stay, a last minute find and well worth the money. Cosy little home with beautiful views for the hot tub. Very relaxing and would highly recommend for a couple! Even our French bulldog had a great time also :)

This home is an absolute Gem!! We stayed as we were at a wedding close by and can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. Mick was so flexible with check in which enabled us to get all set up before going to the wedding. The house was spotless, the photos don’t do it justice. The bedroom was beautiful and plenty big for the 4 of us. The bathroom is stunning and the shower was amazing. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough, thankyou for everything x

This was our second time staying with Roger and Heidi. The place is perfect for us (family of 4, with 2 little ones). Very friendly, flexible and easy to contact. Bonus the 3 lovely border collies who are always waiting for cuddles and welcoming you back after a day out! Will definitely stay again in the future ☺️

Very close to York train station and small but very well equipped and clean. Great place for a quick stopover less than 5 minutes from the river!

Hot tub is great after a day on your feet, kitchen is perfect and whole place is ideal for 4 people for a break. Nice and quiet area near to york. Recommendation for Oddfellows arms is really good, cracking local pub. Everything was easy from check in leaving. Thanks

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Swallows Byre. Dorothy and Nigel are such warm, welcoming and helpful people. The house is homely, clean, comfortable and well equipped and the view from the terrace and garden simply beautiful. We would love to stay again sometime. There's something very special about Swaledale.
