We've just returned from a wonderful weekend staying at The Retreat. The property is beautiful and immaculate. It has everything you will need including a very generous breakfast basket with fruit, cereals, eggs, bread, jams, butter, biscuits and juice. I cannot fault the hosts, they were amazing. We were staying for a family wedding and they kindly left us a bottle of fizz to kick start the celebrations, a really nice touch! Fiona helped us take family photos in the garden and Leo kindly took me back to the wedding venue the following day to collect my car. The property is in a lovely quiet area with parking provided and is only a stones throw away from Whickham. I'd highly recommend this venue and would 100% return when we visit family in future. Martyn and Ann are fantastic hosts, they made us feel so welcome. Great communication before and throughout our stay. The studio was extremely clean, well equipped and cosy. The bed and other furniture were very comfortable. Great place to relax and chill with the added bonus of being set in a wonderful property overlooking Portsmouth and surrounding areas. It was the perfect place for us to visit family who live close by. it's within 10 minutes walk of Portchester station making a great location to visit many of the attractions around Portsmouth and Southampton area. We would definitely recommend Martyns to couples looking for a place to chill after a busy day enjoying the sights and attractions around the area. . Thanks again for a lovely stay. Ray and Alison.

Fantastic stay. It's the best Airbnb we've stayed by a country mile, All the fittings and furniture were of great quality. Very well equipped kitchen. and everything was spotlessly clean. Only 4 or 5 min walk into the centre of town and only 5-10min walk to the train station. Will definitely be back. Cheers Nigel and Denise !!
