This is an traditional Nisyrian house (65 km2). It is good for couples, 3 friends travelling together, solo adventurers or a small family. The house has wifi, but because of the narrow street it can be unreliable at times. The neighbourhood is authentic and has a lovely atmosphere. The house is only 8 minutes walk from the beach, tavernas, cafes and shops in the centre of the village. Nisyros is a beautiful Aegean islands, still untouched by tourism. It is part of the Dodecanese Island group.

Traditional tower in the castle of Nisyros

Originally built as a two-storey tower in the mid-17th century, the residence was the first to be restored in the medieval castle after its collapse in the devastating earthquake of 1933. The restoration work has been meticulous, with the use of traditional materials and on the basis of historical documentation. The residence is named after the cistern (sterna in Greek) just outside, which is considered to be the largest of its kind ever built in Emporeios.

In the basement there is the kitchen, a bathroom and a small room behind the kitchen with 2 beds. It is a house so close to the nature that the only sounds you listen are the birds and the air.
