Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Ngongotahā Valley

This was our favorite place we stayed at in NZ. Kerry and David’s place is in a great location albeit off a busy street. The beds were very confortable and the kitchen was well stocked. All the extra touches made us feel welcome as soon as we stepped in theough the door. We had an issue with the keys and they came right away to help resolve it in person. Super nice and responsive hosts. Highly recommend!

Anne was very kind! She greeted us, let us in and even provided some oranges she picked from her tree! The space was perfect for our family and a short distance to all the activities we wanted to do. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved Mark’s house! Mark was the best Air BNB host we have ever had. His daily fresh bread was amazing and much appreciated. Mark really cares about the people staying in his house. Thank you for a great trip!

We had a fabulous stay at Sam’s place! All of the activities we planned were no more than 15 minutes via car. The heating units came in handy during the evening, but the bedding provided ample warmth. The best part were the views; nothing beat the sun rising right in front of the bed!

This property and host Craig left the deepest impression on me throughout my 11 days in NZ. We stayed in 6 apartments during our road trip there and Teemos Retreat really stood out. Crag is extremely meticulous. Looking at the booklet (brochure) and posters that he prepared (inside the property at kitchen area) to let guest know the places and things to do around in Rotorua, and a brief introduction on himself and why he name the place Teemos Retreat, you know that this gentleman Craig is on a different level. All 3 rooms come with portable heater and heater blanket which is useful during winter. A garage that has mountain bikes and scooter, with badminton rackets, frisbee that you can play at the back garden which is huge btw. Front porch big for 2 cars to park. a study/gaming room that has an arcade machine (which my boy love). basket of toys in the living room that my girl love. Guys, Craig and Teemos Retreat is a cut above the rest. this is what dedication looks like. a million 👍

Kristin has been great with communication, offering early check in as soon as the place is available. Location is excellent, lake front, next to many restaurants and most importantly, 3 min walk to Wai Ariki hot spring which is the main reason for our visit to Rotorua. Note though because of the proximity to Eat Street - Friday night particularly can be very noisy , music well into 1am . The pull out couch at the study does sleep the 5th guest, but the study is more a recess from the kitchen area, so whoever sleeps there bring eye mask and ear plugs.

Breathingtakingly beautiful place with a stunning view of the lake. The living room was huge and cozy, filled with clean energy flowing throughout the space. The fireplace was such a huge bonus, especially on a cold wintry night. Stuart was friendly, responsive and communicative throughout our stay. We will love to come back! 10/10 recommend!

The place was lovely, well appointed, nice & cosy in winter. Lovely hosts who were very responsive and let us know about the Matariki drone show. Highly recommend.

Barbara was an absolutely wonderful host. The only hiccup involved a communication issue with the cleaner but she resolved it so incredibly quickly that it did not affect our stay in the least. She was generous and very easy to work with during our stay. Should we venture back to this side of the world from the states again one day we would love to stay at her accommodation again.

The house was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of the highlights was the level of privacy – it was peaceful, quiet, and felt like our own private retreat. We truly felt at home and completely at ease throughout our stay. Our host, Amandeep, was outstanding! She was incredibly caring, always available with a quick response, and made sure every detail was taken care of. Her hospitality and attention to detail made a real difference. Mr. Ajay also warmly welcomed us and even helped in medical urgency. It was feel like at home out of home. This was by far the best stay we’ve ever had. Every aspect– from cleanliness to comfort, privacy, and communication – was top-notch. We would highly recommend this place to anyone – families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful and perfect getaway

“Breathtaking view and a perfect short stay!” We only stayed one night at Phil’s place, but it was unforgettable. The view of Lake Rotorua is absolutely stunning—hands down one of the best we’ve seen. The house was clean, cozy, and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing stopover. Phil was a great host, very responsive and welcoming. Wish we could’ve stayed longer—highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Sussan was a fantastic host, welcoming and friendly. Her home was clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and yummy breakfast. I had everything I needed and more. I was walking distance from the conference and places to eat. Great if you're tired from a big day! We had lovely chats and I left with a gift feijoa's, which made my day. Thank you for a wonderful and easy stay, with a 'home away from home' feeling.

I really recommend staying at Barb's place, it's got everything you would need for a short or longer stay. There's lots to do in the area and Barb gave some great recommendations and helpful information. As a host Barb is the best I've ever had, fast response time, friendly and very helpful, she really goes above and beyond!

Great home

We had an amazing four night stay here. The apartment was excellently furnished, the location effectively on the lakefront was fantastic and the outlook across the lake to Mount Tarawera was beautiful. We could not have wished for more. Thank you Murray for being such a great host
