The house has 5 bedrooms and is well suited for families, quiet groups of friends and smaller work groups, up to 8 guests. A large garden, two terraces, a barbecue, a fireplace, art, Persian rugs and Maihaugbekken give the house a distinctive character. The bookshelves contain a large collection of books on Lillehammer's local history, and old pictures of the town hang on the walls. Parking for up to 3 cars.

In winter you have access to great ski slopes, almost right outside the door. The summer offers nice hikes in great scenery, with several hiking trails and viewpoints. The old summer barn of Hovelsrud Gård is idyllically located between Mjøsa and a rolling grain field – a simple and unique place for those who want to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquillity of Helgøya. The house is best suited for a couple or a small family with up to two children. Inside, there is a bedroom and an open-plan living room. Outside there is a kitchen bench, with a gas burner and barbecue, a small beach with swimming opportunities and an outdoor toilet. There is no electricity.

If you cross the road you come straight to a beautiful park area by the lake, Næra. Here you can fish, swim or realax and enjoy the sunset. We also offer our guests kayak and canoes to rent for free. In Næroset it is also great opportunities for outdoor hiking and cross country skiing in the winter. Only 20 minutes away is Sjusjøen
