We are located 5 minutes from the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park. We are just far enough out of town to enjoy the peacefulness of nature, but close enough for all of the conveniences. You will have your own, SEPARATE ENTRANCE and space for your privacy, but the OWNERS STILL LIVE IN THE HOME & host other guests in the basement. You will hear us and our 3 DOGS moving around our home. This space has 4 beds that are upstairs. There is also a pool (NOT heated) that you are welcome to use.

We also own the downtown cafe, Broad Porch Coffee, so are local and can help if you ever need anything. We are family friendly and love dogs, no pet fee. Our cabin, located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is uniquely positioned overlooking a large open field where hawks hunt and bears leisurely stroll. Our neighbors have horses that peer over the fence (nosy) pet them but don’t feed them, please. Our cabin was built in 1865 by a Confederate soldier returning from the Civil War. Eleven children were born and raised in John Pope Cabin. Our cabin is rustic. An inviting front porch with swing is waiting for you @walnuthillcabin

This vacation dwelling is modern from the outside but inside walls are hand cut logs in most of the house. The original house was built in 1864. It has been up dated with just the right up to date furnishings. The view from the porch is spectacular and the neighborhood is quite. The property is located within minutes of many of our attractions that bring people to this area year around. This vacation property is definitely an unique and family-friendly place. The spacious one bedroom yurt is located high on a forested hillside in the middle of 15+ acres.
