This is an urban/zen carriage house apartment, cozy yet spacious with the artists recycling hand at work. The neighborhood includes all the faces of America. I live in the stately house adjacent to the garage apartment. There is a back courtyard with a fire pit area. The house itself is on Detroit Ave. The apartment faces the side street which is Thoreau. The neighborhood is quiet. People walk up to Drugmart or City Hall nearby and early on weekdays middle schoolers can be heard going to the school nearby, but for all this people activity, this urban neighborhood is peaceful. Folks who stay here say it is perfect for a retreat .Looking to disappear for awhile? Come to "Nan's Nook on Thoreau." In Lakewood. We are family friendly. This could be a good spot for a couple traveling with a baby . We can accommodate.
What guests are saying:“Nan’s Nook is an excellent value, an entire 1 bedroom apt for a great price. The place was very clean and I felt safe. The bed was really comfortable. You can control the temperature of the apartment to your liking. Nan provides coffee (it’s in the fridge), snacks, and breakfast items in the freezer. Her description is accurate. The front room is very spacious and has lots of natural lighting. I loved the artwork. Her communication is great. If you need a place for one or two, do not hesitate to stay here. Local restaurants are good, too. Loved it.”
