House holiday rentals in Matlock

We had a lovely time staying at the Old Angel with a large group of women. The sheer number of bathrooms was super handy with the large group number, and the living and dining spaces were super functional for a group of our size. There is a one half freezer and a large fridge, which Nicola had left some treats in which was a lovely touch. Bedrooms were well organised and very clean, with towels provided. There’s a village shop right next door, and a pub 20 meters away which was glorious in the May sunshine. Nicola and her team were very helpful in response to any questions/feedback we we had - overall we had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place to others!

The property and the location was absolutely amazing , me and my friends have made some amazing memories there. The property felt luxurious and there were soo many personalised gifts for us upon arrival which were much appreciated. the host was very responsive whenever we had any questions I would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a country escape and I know I want to go back in the future.

Lovely stay, the farm was beautiful and the animal feeding was the highlight of our childrens’ stay. Pool was great, super clean everywhere, and they provided maps of local walks which we utilised too. Couldn’t have asked for much more.

Great value for money. Can't stress enough how friendly and reliable the staff were. We had a lovely week stay, the house was clean, the beds were comfy and the scenery was perfect. We were informed of the booking system for the swimming pool and games room, so you could have the room to yourself which was great. The pool was clean, the games room was kept tidy and the house surroundings were really lovely to walk around. You can tell the grounds were well maintained and kept in good shape as the workers never stopped, but were always so friendly. This property is perfect for bike riders, walkers and pub crawlers. You couldn't get bored.

Fabulous place - we stayed for a week - with 2 teenagers, a preteen and our dog - great field opposite to run the dog morning and evening. Plenty of beautiful walks straight from the front door. 45 minutes to nearest place to eat out. Facilities were great - lots of swimming and football played by our kids. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a lovely 2 night family break at Peacock Barn over October half term. It's a beautiful property with fantastic amenities and perfectly located for exploring the many sites and activities the area has to offer. The swimming pool and games room provided the children with a space to play and have fun which was a key factor for choosing this property. The garden was great for our dog providing plenty of space to run around and secure, providing peace of mind. It would be the perfect spot to enjoy during the summer months. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for having us!

We had a lovely, long weekend stay at Chert cottage. Great Longstone is an excellent location, with several pubs within walking distance. Beautiful scenery is on the doorstep, with places like Bakewell and Buxton a short drive away. Sarah was an excellent host - she was very responsive and we really appreciated the cake, milk and flowers on arrival. Chert cottage itself was great - very clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need - we particularly loved sitting out in the garden in the evening! Many thanks Sarah, we had a great time.

Vernon House is a lovely place to stay. It worked well for a group of friends coming together for a reunion. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals for 10 people. The house is well laid out and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a walk to Chatsworth House along a well marked footpath. Noise from the A6 was most noticeable on Sunday when we sat in the garden. In the house the traffic could not be heard. We were very happy with the house we had chosen for our gathering.

This is a lovely cottage ideally placed to explore places of interest in the area. Jon always responded promptly to any queries, and the jar of homemade jam he left for us was a nice touch.

We had such a lovely stay here, the place was private, well presented, neat and tidy. It had everything we needed and was a comfortable home away from home. The little town was also very nice and a short walk to a small village shop and pub. Alison was very friendly and welcoming. Would defnitely stay again if we come back to England.

My sister and I had a lovely time staying at the cottage for 3 nights. Ed and Charlotte were so friendly and welcoming to us. They were easy to communicate with and I felt comfortable reaching out to them. The cottage was clean and cozy, we felt safe and comfortable staying there. We would definitely recommend it if staying in Baslow! We loved going to Chatsworth house and Bakewell was nice too! There’s a bus stop near by that takes you to the popular spots, it is important to note we found it difficult to get a taxi in that area.

Gemma's place did us really well! It fit ourselves, our 4 month old little person and his grandparents for a lovely long weekend. loads to do in the area and the house was great.

Really beautiful!! The chapel was spotless and had everything we could need. Lee was brilliant at sending directions as well as suggestions of things to do in the area. We had the pleasure of seeing her a couple of times and she was lovely!! I would definitely stay here again.

Olive Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Amanda is a friendly host who responds to messages quickly and provided some lovely recommendations of things to do and get paces to eat. The cottage was as lovely as it is in the photos and super clean, the little welcome basket and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch and we throughly enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely host and lovely place to stay! Laura replied to queries very quickly. It was a much needed few days away with our pooch. Lots of lovely walks and scenery just minutes away from the door. Would highly recommend ☺️ thank you for our lovely stay ☺️

What a wonderful place Sunshine Cotrage is and Naomi is a fantastic host. The cottage was spotless, excellent quality throughout and the projector in the bedroom is top notch. Wirksworth was great, recommend the small, private cinema, The Feathers, Hope and Anchor and le Mistral. The chippy was brilliant as well. The Wirksworth circular walk was easy going as well. Great place for a family of four (plus a dog). A short walk into Matlock town centre and a great base to explore the Peaks. There was ample parking on the road directly opposite and the house was very well-equipped.

The house was everything we hoped it would be. The location was perfect to explore the area, both on bike and walking. Peter was an amazing host and was quick to answer any questions we had, both before we got there and during our stay. We would highly recommend this place.

The best air b n b we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot of places. I would recommend this over and over again and have done already and we have only been home a few hours! Sally-Anne's house is very stylish and well presented. It is very close to Matlock and an easy walk along the road to all the centre. There is a lovely park called Hall Leys Park which is conveniently nearby. We visited nearby National Trust Kedleston Hall, Matlock Bath, the Black Rocks and walked along the Cromford Canal. We had a wonderful stay and particularly enjoyed the house.
