This is an absolute gem of a spot. Loved all the mahi put in to restore this beautiful building and the floor to ceiling vintage vibe. The outdoor bath under the stars on a chill April evening was also a winner.

Jan is such a warm and kind-hearted host – you can really tell she puts a lot of care and love into what she does. She had the heating on for me so the room was nice and warm when I arrived, and even brought me some milk later in the evening – such thoughtful touches that made me feel very welcome. The room itself is cosy, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches. The check-in instructions were very detailed and clear, so it was easy to find everything. The location is great – just a short walk to the supermarket and very convenient overall. Communication with Jan was super friendly and helpful throughout. She really respects your privacy, but she’s also very open and happy to chat if you’re up for it. I truly felt at home here and really hope I can come back one day. Thank you so much, Jan

Annelies’ bank was amazing. I love the way she has kept the originality of the building but has made it completely liveable and comfortable. Annelies was very generous in the provisions she left - bread, eggs, muesli, yoghurt, chocolate etc. We really loved Kimbolton as well - lots of history, great walks and really enjoyed our evening at the pub across the road. Hopefully we’ll be back!

Fabulous spot in Taihape. The morning views of the mountain were stunning and the Gentle Annie was great. Debbie was a great host!
