This beautiful cottage used to be a 100-year-old wagon barn, of which old beams have remained in sight as much as possible. The cottage is in the yard of our 400-year-old monumental stool farmhouse, where we live with our sheep, chickens and dog. The cottage features a private outdoor seating area. Opposite the farm are the floodplains of the river Lek with the many nice little beaches. And a stone's throw away is the cozy silver town of Schoonhoven.

We were warmly welcomed by Klaas Jan. Refrigerator was well stocked and there were also some goodies present. The house, and certainly the kitchen, is equipped with every comfort. There was also a covered and enclosed area where we could store and charge our bikes. We sat outside on the banks of the Hollandse Ijssel, at the back of the house. The front is located on a busy provincial road, which is audible in the house and garden. The living room and kitchen (upstairs) are very spacious, downstairs, where the bedrooms are, it is just a little cramped for 3 adults. Also because the master bedroom is only accessible via the bathroom. In addition, there was no curtain/door at the bedstee to darken the daylight that comes through the skylight early in the morning. But all in all we had a very pleasant stay in this super luxurious AirBnB and we would highly recommend it, especially if you are only two!

Cherry Cottage is a little paradise! The cottage is furnished with so much heart and attention to detail – super cozy, very clean and well equipped. You feel welcome right away and can really switch off. An absolute highlight was the whirlpool, which is heated with wood – pure relaxation in the midst of this wonderfully quiet environment. The adjacent sheep pasture was simply idyllic, as was the entire location of the cottage – totally quiet, lots of privacy and just ideal for unwinding. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back. If you are looking for a cosy break in beautiful nature, you have come to the right place. Thank you for this wonderful stay!

We loved the house and gardens. It was a real pleasure to stay in such a lovely home. Everything we needed was there, and the area was beautiful. Hermanus was the perfect host - encouraging and helpful, but allowing us our own space. We particularly enjoyed the welcome bottle of red, and the fresh eggs Hermanus brought for us on several occasions. It's hard to imagine how our holiday in Oudewater could have been improved - one of the very best accommodations we've had.
