Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Leigh-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea

A wonderful place to stay in town: bright and airy. Very close to all the shops, restaurants, with a great pub at the end of the road. Caroline was a wonderful host: the house was kitted out with everything we needed. We had a lovely stay.

Charming and well appointed cottage, just a few paces from the beach. Near the local high street. Nicola was incredibly helpful when a few things needed to be addressed. Quickly and calmly. Overall, a wonderful experience and would visit again.

We had such an incredible time at this house. We were all pleasantly surprised at how great the house was and all the amenities. I don’t think the advert does it justice. We were a big group of 21 with 11 little ones who were in HEAVEN. We got very lucky with the weather and spent the whole weekend in the glorious grounds. We brought our own paddling pool and it was perfect. The aspect of the house means you get stunning sunsets and the back terrace is a real sun trap - long evenings sunbathing until 7pm! The surrounding area is stunning and the local village is so beautiful!! Walking distance (even with a million young children) to the village shop and then on to the very well equipped play park. We only wish we could have stayed for a week, the kids never wanted to leave. Some very special memories made here! Rachel the host is on the end of the phone for any questions and was excellent at responding to our queries.

Robert was a great host and quick to fix any minor issues. Super house in a quiet area. I was working in the area but if you are a bird watcher there is lots to do. The local pub was very welcoming too. The loo is downstairs which may worry some but was fine with us. The garden was dog friendly as it was fully enclosed. The decor is super stylish.

A beautiful apartment in a great location. Bernadette was responsive and went over and above in accommodating my early flight arrival and late departure. The apartment had guests departing on my arrival but Leanne still managed to have it cleaned and ready for me to check in (early), thank you. If you are looking for a place that is literally 45mins from London (by train, station across the road), 5mins walk to Leigh Broadway with its shops and restaurants, and all the creature comforts of home, this is your place to stay.

Had a great stay at Claire's house. Claire was very helpful & responsive on messages. The location is perfect, walking distance to the village for the cafe's and the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and the outside space was perfect for relaxing in the afternoon and evening. Thanks Claire for a great stay!

A great few days at the Lobster pot, fantastic location and wonderful hosts who were super helpful throughout our stay. Had a lovely time and hope to be back!

We spent a very happy Christmas at the house visiting relatives in the area. The house is well appointed and extremely comfortable - though you do need to be a fan of soft beds (which I am). Everything worked and was scrupulously clean. The only problem we had was that the fuse for the cooker and oven had been tripped before we arrived but there was a rapid response to our (panicky) phone call and we were able to locate the fuse board. The area only has one small shop but it's a fairly quick walk or train ride to the town. Overall very nice stay and we had lots to do around Southend including the pantomime and the Helen Mirren phone box / museum! Worth a quick look. (I think it was on the corner of Alexander Road and Cashiobury Terrace). Anyway, thank you.

We were only in the area a couple days for a family reunion so we really only slept in the accommodation but everything was there we would definitely book again

What an incredible place!! There was lots of really interesting information available about the location - the only national reserve where you can stay the night! The hut was very cosy, and the fireplace kept us very warm. It was quite easy to use the kitchen, just keep your meals simple. We were treated kindly and inclusively. I would recommend this to anyone!

My friend’s and I loved the place and really enjoyed our stay. It was very cosy and clean. Julie’s team was very responsive and assisted with everything that we needed.

Lovely apartment, in a great location. Short walk to the local shops and restaurants. Apartment was clean and spacious. Would definitely return next time we visit.

Stay was Good, But Need to improve some things Mainly Guest supply’s.The Tv needs to change I think have some issues. Also Bathroom shower head was leaking wasting water .One of the chair leg was broken.WC cover lid was loose not comfortable while using.

The flat is perfect for a stay for one or two people for a short break in Rochester. It's is easily walkable to and from the station and easy to find. It was peaceful but near the centre, the castle, cathedral and river with an incredible number or eateries nearby. The instructions for getting in were clear with no problems and the key box easy to use. (I have fought with a couple in the past!) The flat itself was spotless with all the amenities you need. There was plenty of kitchen equipment and Linda left milk, tea and coffee. My only note of caution, was it was up 3 flights of stairs which was easy to manage but I did have to take my bags (I don't travel light so had two ) one at a time. I would highly recommend this most comfortable flat if staying in Rochester

Cosy place to stay in Great Wakering, close to a supermarket and a few nice pubs. Perfect for two of us to get away.

It was the perfect home away from home! Everything was super straightforward and accessible including shops, parks/open spaces, check in, parking etc. The home was beautifully decorated, clean and tidy. Not a bad word to say about my visit and if I’m ever in the area again I would definitely stay again :)
