You can hike and bike wonderfully here. It is also a good starting point for excursions to the Mosel or to Trier, about 40 km away, the oldest city in Germany with many Roman relics. The maars of the Volcanic Eifel are also only about 40 km away and a worthwhile destination for an excursion.
