Frequented by wildlife you will often see deer, hummingbird, fox or turkey on your drive up the private 1.7 mile road that traverses the mountain. The home is solar assisted & made of eco-friendly Straw Bale construction. Walk barefoot on warm radiant heat floors in the winter.

Come enjoy the quiet of the country, only 15 minutes south of town. Stunning views of the La Plata Mountains and dark night skies for great star-gazing! Nice area for cycling and walking. Many of our neighbors have donkeys, horses, llamas and goats, chicken and sheep. No cigarette smoking but we are 420 friendly (outside only please!). We are a safe place for women travelers. There is a very friendly Labrador Retriever and a Basset Hound that live on this property but not allowed in the apt.

We have been told it is of the most beautiful locations in Colorado! 15 minutes to downtown Durango, 20 minutes to Purgatory Ski Resort, and 5 minutes to the Hot Springs & a shopping plaza, and 40 minutes to the airport. There is a cafe/gas station/liquor store across the road. We also have another airbnb here with a spa deck!

A peaceful retreat 10 mins from town. Ideal for groups or romantic getaways. Kick back amongst the blue jays! Warm yourself in the wood fired sauna or by the gas fireplace. Indulge with a family meal prepared in our fully equipped kitchen or BBQ out on the deck! This vintage cabin was built in 1974, and remains in near original condition with beautiful exposed timber. It's an older house with quirks! Decor is minimal southwest art deco/ neuveau forest fusion! Coniferous and bright!

Riverhouse Sunshine Cottage

Sunshine Cottage is close to Downtown (about 2.2 miles) with lots of family-friendly activities. The Animas River / Oxbow Nature Preserve across the street, nightlife, public transport, the airport. This is a completely private cottage with a full kitchen, three bedrooms, (one main level, two downstairs) queen bed in Master, one king and two twins downstairs, and a queen pull out sofa in living room. The living room has direct TV. TheTV in Master bedroom is for streaming only.

Our home is close to the historic downtown, Fort Lewis College, and a long list of outdoor activities. Stay for work or relaxation in this unique and charming studio filled with custom furniture and cozy amenities. Property backs up to the Florida River and has a view of the local historic Rio Grande Railroad bridge used in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The studio has Starlink internet, the coziest bed ever, cute kitchenette and heated floor bathroom. Plus a wood pellet fireplace! Just 18 min drive to downtown Durango and 8 minutes to the closest coffee shop!
