This private traditional Japanese house is owned by ‘JP’, a DIY enthusiast who self-renovated a 150-year-old traditional house, envisioning his ideal lifestyle. The standout feature of this accommodation is its one-of-a-kind ‘egg sauna’. This is a fully DIY sauna, developed entirely by JP from design to production, featuring a unique shape that allows heat to circulate naturally.Enjoy a sauna experience you can’t get anywhere else, while being enveloped by the gentle warmth of the wood-burning stove. Inside the room, there is also a traditional Japanese irori (hearth) typical of old Japanese houses. You can experience traditional Japanese living, such as sharing a hotpot around the irori (traditional hearth) or grilling skewers. *Please bring your own cooking utensils, such as ingredients and skewers. The accommodation is located in a quiet hamlet called ‘Kobo’, nestled among the mountains in Misasaki, Okayama Prefecture. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho, which is blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, and there are many natural places such as Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi nearby. You can freely use the comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, the natural garden that creates seasonal scenery, and the forest where the stream flows.In the forest that we have been maintaining, you can see small birds, squirrels, and raccoons, and you can enjoy strolling around looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. This accommodation is a private resort called "Private Resort Fuji", located in a villa area 11 minutes on foot from Lake Yamanaka, which was renovated by a designer in July 2024. A modern Japanese design house with a floor area of 115㎡, based on a 3LDK log house, When you go up to the second floor, you can see the large Mt. Fuji from the living room window, have a BBQ on the large balcony with Mt. Fuji in the background, and after enjoying the barrel sauna surrounded by trees, you can take a forest bath in the outdoor rest space. There is a large fire pit in the garden, and you can talk around the fire. Also, there is a high fence in the garden, so you don't have to worry about your dog running away if you bring it with you. The room has a large 90-inch screen where you can enjoy Prime Video, Youtube, etc. At night, you can see a sky full of stars if the conditions are right.

This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)

A 1000 square meter private villa with 7 spaces. The entire "Rock Forest" has seven main concepts. We offer each "way of spending time". After procuring fresh ingredients locally, move to the Rock Forest, park your car in the parking lot, and go up the stairs to bring the ingredients to the hearth space. You won't see any other people. It is 60 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Karuizawa, and 30 minutes by car from Karuizawa Station, so you can work in the morning and take a half-day off in the afternoon, for example. Surrounded by nature, you can relax and enjoy an extraordinary time. < Winter season November-March > The outdoor bath is closed during the winter months.

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
