Kid-friendly holiday rentals in James River

We truly enjoyed our stay here for my nieces wedding at Fine Creek. It was so nice being right down the road. We found the house unique and my adult children also loved staying here. They did a wonderful job renovating the house. Thank you so much for sharing your home and we would love to stay here again!

The house is in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains with peaceful views from the front porch that include a field of lavender and a stream. A forested trail network can be accessed at the far end of the lavender field--so bring your hiking shoes. The house is stunning with clean lines, "european" design and decor that includes high-end appliances and fixtures. Francesca is the ultimate host-very friendly and helpful. She provided all the information and details on the house that you would need for an easy check-in, stay, and check-out. From my initial conversations with her when I booked the house to helpful messages just before and during our stay, I felt like I was staying at the house of an old friend. We look forward to staying at Orso Blu on a future trip!

Ben's home was perfect for our weekend away. Everything was just as described and in a great location- only a few minutes from everywhere we went. We would stay here again.

Had a relaxing few days at this cute cottage on the river. Lovely porch with a view. Very secluded but easy to get to all of Richmond's attractions. Bubba the donkey was very welcoming. We couldn't come or go without petting him!

I’m all for historical homes and this one just topped the cake. To actually have fun, not worry about tvs and other things we enjoyed our time and relaxed after dance competitions. Highly recommend.

The Carriage House is beautiful. From the decor, well-stocked kitchen to luxurious linens, we were very comfortable in this home for a long weekend. Just outside of Farmville in a beautiful rural setting, is a jewel of a home. We were a party of 4, busy with different wedding festivities all weekend. It was lovely to start our days on the porch with coffee and come home to relax on the porch to enjoy the each other. Thanks to our host for a well stocked kitchen, bathrooms and all the goodies for us to enjoy. We appreciated your flexibility when we needed it! I hope to return to enjoy more of the area, shop at Greenfront and stay in this lovely home once again.

Wow! What a wonderful place to spend a few days!! The Resort certainly lives up to its name. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed every detail that was meticulously prepared for us. The host was more than helpful and accommodating for our group of 5 which included two teenagers and my mom who benefited from the accessible floorplan. The weather was perfect for the pool too. Thank YOU and we cannot wait to return the next time we are visiting family in Richmond.

Angela was a great host! She replied very quickly to my questions and was very accommodating to my request for an early check in. Our daughter graduated from Longwood on Saturday and our stay here made everything more than enjoyable. We were so close to everything and Angela’s check in instructions were so clear it made check in a breeze. The apartment was immaculate. In addition to everything being incredibly organized (labels on cabinets to avoid having to search for things; very nice touch) the beds were very comfortable and plenty of towels were available in both bedrooms. I would definitely recommend Angela and her location again!

Mark was very responsive and answered all my questions in a timely fashion. The apartment is on the 3rd level, with a lot of steps, no elevator. However, it's very quiet and clean. The property is just a 2-minute walk from the VCU Library, and many restaurants are nearby. There is also a covered parking garage for one car. Highly recommend this apartment!

We had a great stay. The Home Stretch was perfect for the calm and quiet getaway my family needed. The owners have meticulously thought through everything a guest may need or need to know and have labeled the home accordingly, which made getting settled in a breeze. Melissa's space was exactly as advertised, and she was a very friendly host - even taking time out of her day to introduce our girls to some ducks and chickens. We had a very nice stay.

I stayed at Xianfeng's place for one night, and it was exactly as advertised. His instructions were super clear. The check in and entry were super easy. I really appreciated having the parking space. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend.

Accommodations as described PLUS, the bed is unbelievably comfortable. We slept soundly every night and woke up refreshed. We were able to enjoy great family time in this cozy space. The location was superb with all of our activities ( pickleball, beach volleyball, bowling, Sam’s Club and Kroger) all within 15 minutes. If Paul’s place is available we will stay here again. Thankful for an exceptional stay!

If we are ever in Lunchburg again, we will gladly stay here. Spacious. Private. Clean. And the personal touch of fresh fruit and homemade zucchini bread were like a hug from mom. THANK YOU!

Great place to stay because you're just a few short blocks away from Cary Street, where there are lots of great stores and restaurants. We walked over several times to get coffee and go to a restaurant, and then shopping the next morning. The apartment is not "new" -- it's in one of the many old houses that line the street. But it was fun and had some character. The bed might be a little soft for some people, but I was comfortable.

Stylish condo with beautiful views off the Bluffwalk. Very clean and well-appointed with comfortable and cozy bedding. Awesome central location within downtown - so many fun shops and restaurants in walking distance. Great walking trails along the river as well! Jessica is great to deal with, very responsive. Highly recommend, and hope to return!

This was a wonderful place to stay! Mary Anne was incredibly responsive and helpful at all times. The place and surrounding area was peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!

No ghosts were seen or felt despite being a civil war hospital. Super cute place! Whoever decorated it did a lovely job… those vertical stripes on the walls and all white paint make the basement apartment feel large and airy despite having only a few small windows. Host was very nice and responsive with questions.

This was a perfect location for our group. Easy to find, Brad was super responsive and flexible. Would stay here again!

We stayed in this condo for a month and found it to be very comfortable. Although in an older, fairly large complex and on the ground level, we found it to be quiet, private, and secure. The kitchen was well stocked, all appliances in good working order, furnishings in good condition, and pleasant decor lending to a homey atmosphere. Condo is in a great location with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. All in all, a good experience. Angelique was immediately responsive to questions/concerns. We would definitely stay there again.
