Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Island of Ortigia

A good place for 3 people to sleep. Centrally located and quiet. We felt right at home

Amazing location, with two very nice terraces. One from which you can see the sea and is a great pleasure for breakfast or lunch. The other does not have an ocean view from a chair but you have to stop, but in the afternoon it is sunny and very beautiful. Very friendly at check-in. We were left a basket with very rich local products as attention to our arrival. As a feature, two of the rooms do not have windows with light but are internal bedrooms. The master bedroom if it has a window to the street and is very nice, but the only bathroom that is on that floor is a bit far away. The other bathroom is a bit small and is on the top floor so not so easy and convenient access. Anyway, it's really worth the place. After having toured the island almost completely, we believe that Ortigia is the most beautiful town or city in Sicily, above beauties such as Taormina or Cefalú.

Giuseppe was a great host, he told us lots of local places to go which were fantastic. The house was good value and the pool area was very nice. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed including an electric orange juice perfect for fresh Sicilian oranges. My negative comments would be that it is on a relatively busy road, you cannot walk to anything in the neighbourhood so you need a car. I also found the beds very hard and uncomfortable. However access to local beaches is easy by car and also into Syracuse/ Ortiga, I noticed lots of buses that if more organised we would have taken!

We had a great stay at Valentina's place in Plemmirio. Beautiful surroundings and a very cosy home with a spacious terrace in the sun. Valentina was very responsive and helpful!

This compact, self-contained place was comfortable and cool. Gabriella was charming and helpful. Enjoyable stay!

Great stay for the whole family. Beautiful area and lovely with the amazing market around the corner filled with fresh produce at great prices. Very quick response as we ran out of gas in one kitchen about 20 minutes. Highly recommend👍🥰

Lovely spacious flat. Perfect for a big family or, like in our case, for 2 families. Cristian was very responsive and accommodating; especially considering the very short notice. The flat was extremely clean, spacious and with all guests could possibly need. The local is out of Ortigia but perfectly walkable. I'd definitely stay there again and I have no problem recommending it. Perhaps it was a bit expensive for the time of year but again it was a last minute booking.

Overall, a great experience. I would say our biggest challenge was in Parking, but that is to be expected when staying in any of the Italian old towns. Fortunately, the parking garage we used was only a seven minute walk away. The apartment is very nice and has most amenities. We didn’t have a problem briefly with hot water, but that was quickly resolved. The apartment is located on the first floor on the main street so it can be rather noisy until 11 or 12 o’clock at night, but that seem to be worth the trade-off of the convenience of walking right outside and down to the beach. Overall great experience

THE PERFECT LOCATION and the BEST view. We were very pleased with the apartment. The view and location are even better than described. There is some street noise during the day and evening but very quiet at night.

Everything was exactly as described and fit exactly for our two nights in Syracuse: great location, Ortiygia within walking distance, the small house on two floors with pretty courtyard and balcony and everything in the kitchen and bathroom you need. Very tasty coffee! Thank you Martina! We highly recommend the place!

Our stay in Siracusa was amazing thanks to Cesare’s apartment! Very comfortable. Each room is en-suite with a full bathroom. Kitchen has everything you need for basic cooking. Cesare was very helpful and responsive and gave us excellent local recommendations of food and activities. And I had some questions on accessibility months before the stay and he was very kind to send vídeos and pictures of the apartment.Thank you!! Totally recommend

What can I say, what an amazing find in Ortigia. On a beautiful historic street close to the cathedral and historic monument but also moments from the sea. The apartment is beautiful, with clean parquet wooden floors throughout and everything feels like it has been recently renovated. It has a great kitchen with a hob, large fridge and dishwasher. The bedroom is glorious, spacious with a really comfortable bed. And the bathroom has a lovely walk in shower. The living room has a really comfy sofa and a large flat screen tv. It’s really tastefully decorated. There’s a small, but perfectly formed terrace with comfy seating. The hosts kindly left us some snacks, water and coffee, which we appreciated. And most importantly, Salvatore was really helpful in finding parking for our car, just around the corner from the apartment, which was a massive help. Salvatore was very responsive to any questions we had. And we’d definitely recommend this apartment to our friends.

We loved Marikla's place. It was only ten minutes to Ortigia and there was plenty of parking, and right across from a grocery store. There was a beautiful bike path with stunning views of the sea. Three bedrooms were perfect for us and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was also great to have two full bathrooms!

The apartment is located in the heart of the old city, a short distance from the main cathedral square, in a great location. The room was comfortable and clean, very artistic and tasteful. The landlord is also very welcoming and responds promptly with all kinds of help and useful information. Hope to stay here again if we could back to Syracuse .

Daniele is super friendly and calm, always replied quickly and gave a lot of nice little tips via chat each morning. He even surprised us with a bowl of homemade olives :) The room with the balcony towards the ocean is amazing! It's a little bit makeshift, but very cozy, clean and with many cute details. The balcony itself had the greatest views I've every experienced! Overall a perfect stay! I would've given 6/5 if possible.

Fantastic 3 weeks at Francesco`s beautiful apartment - superbly located on Isola Ortigia, an absoultely spectacular place. Lively even during winter and a number of sights (Neapolis is a must!). Went to the food market for fish and greens and made dinner at home every other day or so. Otherwise a number of very good restaurants within a 500m radius. Breakfast and lunches on the spectacular terrase, short/t-shirt at least half the days (when in the sun) even during winter. Francesco was very helpful when we needed some minor assistance with heating and dishwasher. The heating system was the best I have every come across in Italy - water heated radiators, not only the usual A/C. All in ll - spotless!

Marcella is a warm and responsive host. She allowed us to check in very early and her place was clean and comfortable with a lovely view.

This was a fantastic place to stay in Ortigia. Quiet but central and the roof top terrace is a bonus. We also did 2 tours with Francesco so check his web site mysiracusa. We did the Mt Etna and the Vendicari nature reserve. Lots to see and do from the apartment and easy walking to places.

We loved the stay at Maria's AirBnB. The location is awesome, the place was very clean, and Maria was very responsive. She met us at the door when we arrived to greet us and show us around the apartment. It overlooks the confluence of Siracusa and Ortygia and overlooks the water. Everything is very walkable with a lot of great restaurants and shops in the area. It is very chic. Parking can be a challenge, but we managed.

This place is incredibly beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The furniture was comfortable and everything we needed was available. That Lavazza coffee maker was excellent - I wanted one for home but they aren’t available in the US. The patio spaces had a great view, and we spent so much time there. Ortigia is possibly the most charming place I’ve ever been, and the apartment matched the island’s charm. Be aware of the steps up to the place. It’s a steep climb, but it’s absolutely worth it.

We had a lovely visit at Mario and Jacapo’s beautiful apartment which was recently renovated with marble tile bathroom, new kitchen, Murano glass light fixtures and historic furnishings. The hosts are warm and friendly and greeted us with a homemade dessert and plenty of goodies in the refrigerator. The location of the apartment is in the pedestrian area of Ortigia and is steps away from the Duomo and plenty of restaurants and shops are nearby. Highly recommended!
