It is located 200 m from the edge of the forest and is the ideal starting point for hiking or cycling tours to "Kroppacher Schweiz" and with connection (1 km) to the Westerwaldsteig. Two playgrounds are not far away and there is much to discover, e.g. Hachenburg with the historic market square, the Marienstatt Abbey with monastery garden & brewery, the Westerwald Lake District, Bad Marienberg with climbing and animal park.

In a picturesque location, outside the Westerwald town of Hachenburg with its picturesque market square and the open-air museum. Close to Marienstatt Monastery. Located directly on the Westerwaldsteig. Quiet and steeped in history. The first Chancellor of the FRG, Konrad Adenauer, stayed here. A commemorative plaque on the house commemorates his stay.

The Obererbach railway connection (one stop to the centre) is within walking distance of the village. You can reach the nearest shopping facilities in about 3.5 km by car.
