Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Houghton Lake

My family and I spent the week at Rachel’s home and had an amazing time! This was one of the nicest Airbnbs that we have stayed at. The house was decorated nicely, the beds and furniture were very comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for cooking for a large family. This house is located about 15-20 mins from downtown Traverse City. There is a nice Meijers located just a few minutes away. My family had a great time walking through the woods and enjoying the scenery around the house. Rachel was a great host and was incredibly accommodating and kind from our first inquiry about the house. We will be back!

Sue’s home was the perfect setting for our family Christmas! Now that the kids are grown and living in other states, it was wonderful to find a home to be able to all be so comfortable under one roof and so close to my parents and extended family in the Midland-Auburn area. Sue had even decorated for Christmas! 🎄 ✨ We arrived late at night in the middle of a snow storm right before Christmas. Arriving at the home was truly a feeling of sanctuary and welcome. The kitchen was very generously stocked with coffee and tea and hot cocoa and so many herbs and spices for cooking. These amenities made preparing our Christmas meals and baking cookies so much easier. I highly recommend this home and was so grateful for the thoughtful communication with the hosts. Hopefully next time we can come in the summer months to visit Dow gardens which is just down the road. You are in good hands if you choose to stay here.

Outstanding! Very clean. We clean up after ourselves so not getting slammed with a high house cleaning fee and other fees made this a great value for families. One of the best places we’ve ever rented and Becca was so nice to work with.

Very quiet neighborhood, close to Hansen Hills for skiing, close enough to town to make access to restaurants and shops easy. Comfortable space, nice to have decent knives, pots and pans. Very roomy!

Rachel’s house was comfortable from the start. Everyone including the pets found the house to be fun. The children loved the ability to fish right from the pier and to get out on the water with the 3 waterboard choices. The fire pit was nicely located being right outside the back door instead of down by the water. We found the Harrison location to fun as well. We will be back to Rachel’s house and Harrison.

Aaron’s place was absolutely amazing! Clean, excellent location, comfortable beds, everything you could need…10/10! Thank you for having us, when we come back to Mt P we hope to stay here again.

Great stay, nice and clean, no issues.

Absolutely loved this place. Midland overall is safe, but this neighborhood definitely felt safe, its nearby a school and the hospital. My favorite thing about this place was that it actually felt homey. After a long day, it was so nice to cook in our own private space and relax, plus this space was spacious! My second favorite part was having a pack n’ play and high chair on site. This made travel with my toddler a breeze! Will definitely use this place again!

Great stay, small and cozy for 2 people. Bathroom shower / getting out is kind of tight but doable. A larger person might have more of an issue but over all would recommend. Pretty central in a small town

The home was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We only stay one night and wished our stay was longer. Definitely if we get the chance would stay at this Airbnb again!

Great host! Place was as described. I'm thinking they're pretty new as it had that new house scent. I would recommend this place to anyone going to the Traverse City area. Will stay there again if up in the area.

It was a very nice place to stay. Very clean, and quiet. The beach was very close, and it was a great location for my event. I would definitely stay here again.

Doug was a wonderful host and very quick to respond and deliver if we needed anything at all. Stayed here with my wife and baby girl to be closer to the job in Hemlock. This location is in a peaceful, just outside downtown neighborhood. The entire city of Midland was very pleasant to be in ; everyone here was very friendly and just so much different from the Detroit Metro area. You definitely feel safe here. Being so close to downtown , there were plenty of restaurants, parks, and stores that are less than a 5 minute drive away. Will definitely be coming back in the future. Thanks again Doug!

I took my girls to Traverse City to visit their Aunt over spring break and they had fun as well as I did. I had never stayed in an Airbnb before so I was a little nervous but it was fun an would do it again during the summer.

The condo was a home away from home.

We had a great stay! The place was very clean and well-maintained. The community is brand new, and everything—from the buildings to the surroundings—looked fresh and modern. The kitchen was well-equipped with new utensils, which made cooking convenient. The kids especially loved the bunk bed—it was definitely a highlight for them! Would highly recommend for families.
