Catcott has 2 friendly local pubs (although King William is currently shut) who do great food within walking distance.

Enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the many birds in the surrounding trees or be a little more adventurous with the numerous local cycle routes. We look forward to meeting you on your stay. "The Apple Store", is a brand new property finished to a high spec. It is situated in the idyllic village of Babcary which is within a short walking distance of the 17th century popular Red Lion pub. Babcary Meadows ‘nature reserve’ is within a stroll; classed as a place of outstanding beauty & archaeological interest. There is parking outside the Apple Store. The delightful cottage garden is perfect to relax and unwind after a busy day. The children’s play park is also close by.

It has all the conveniences: Wood burning stove, underfloor heating, Washer & tumble dryer, Iron & ironing board, fast fibre optic broadband and a charging station for an electric or plug in hybrid car, but sadly the mobile phone signal is very poor. The house is next to the pub and a stones throw from the church. The Newt and Hauser Wirth Gallery in Bruton are within a 15 minute drive.

Portcullis End Cottage is a quirkily-decorated self-catering retreat giving you the best of both worlds: 5 mins walk from the river, independent High Street, cafes & shops. Bring your SUP, bike or kayak! There's a small private courtyard for alfresco dining and stargazing. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome with no fee, please get in touch if you have more than 2 dogs. There are no other dogs on the premises. PLS NOTE: This private location has a strict no-visitors policy.

Myrtle cottage is a modern, dedicated living space annexed to our 17th century thatched cottage. Pitney itself is a delightful small village situated above The Levels. There is a traditional pub serving real ales, local ciders and great home cooked food and the superb Pitney Farm shop offering organic meat and veg from the mixed farm & market garden. The area offers lovely walks directly from our garden up into the hills at High Ham or down on to The Levels and the river Carey.
