This place is a warm, cozy and stylish gem, in the middle of nature. We had a lovely personal welcome by the hosts, plenty of fire wood, never ending views and lots of peace and quiet. For two weeks we enjoyed the snow, ski tracks, winter nights and northern lights! Our three kids spent hours building snow castles and we spent hours reading near the windows. The place has all the amenities you need and good quality furniture, kitchen, beds etc. The nearby mountain school has a friendly owner and rents out various ski equipment and the cabin has some different sleds too. A proper car(winter tires, preferably 4x4) is advised as the road up to the cabin can be tricky in certain weather conditions, but the owners are very proactive in weather and driving advice! All in all a place we love to visit again.

Nice cabin with good social zone for 10 people. Suitable for 2 families. The cabin is nicely located towards Midtbakken and it was easy ski out/in. We also took the elevator up with cross country skiing for hiking in the mountains. Lots of good trails.

Inger’s place was perfect for our family! We enjoyed the abundant natural light coming in the great big windows, the wood burning fireplace, the sauna (which Inger’s husband Knut graciously helped us get going, then shared interesting information about the history and unique ecological features of the area), and the river views. It’s conveniently located 12 minutes from downtown Lillehammer, making our Birken weekend convenient!

We had a very nice time at Olahytta. Jakob was nice, gave good descriptions and responded quickly. The cabin is great, even nicer than what the pictures show. It was clean and tidy, freshly made beds, towels for all guests and firewood was ready in the fireplace. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Olga’s place was absolutely incredible! The apartment was spotless, fresh-smelling, and truly cozy we instantly felt at home. It’s been a long time since we’ve enjoyed a trip this much. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and the place has everything you might need. Olga was kind and flexible, Communication was smooth and easy throughout. Nice place, plenty of space for 7 adults. well stocked kitchen and nice sauna. Very easy for beginner's to ski in and ski out. You have to cross two roads to do so but this seems unavoidable for the majority of places in the area. Directions for the turnoff could be better. Took us a while to figure out but we did so eventually, you have to take slope 13 and turned off from there to ski home, but a map with the listing would be appreciated. Likewise if the directions to ski out were provided that would be great.

Very cozy and modern apartment that was within walking distance to the ski slope, as we imagined because we were there on the sports holiday for skiing. From the apartment we had a wonderful view out over the village and mountains! Perfect driving distance and nice roads from Gothenburg. We would be glad to come back!

We felt right at home. The house is beautifully situated above Favang with a great view. We were greeted nicely and had everything we needed. Communication with Julia was excellent. We had enough wood for the stove to make ourselves comfortable. We were able to spend a nice week skiing. For cross-country skiing, Hafjell is better suited and also only 30 minutes away. We will be happy to come back.

Beautiful location. Is a true farm house setup separate from, but right next to the main house (which is host occupied, I believe). Is rustic with some nice updates (eg. bathroom). Lots of space - very comfortable for 4 of us and with room outside to exercise 2 big dogs. close to ski trails, very convenient to the airport, and less than an hour to the heart of Oslo.

We had a great time staying at Kristin and Lars's place. The house is well located (with plenty of ski opportunities nearby), very spacious and has beautiful views of the farmhouse and surrounding countryside. For the past decade, we have been traveling regularly to Norway and Scandinavia, and it's one of the best places we've had. Kristin is a very welcoming host, with whom it is very nice to communicate with. She did everything to make our stay perfect. We will definitely be back!
