Villa Margaridi – Chauffeur's Lodge

Five minutes from the city center, just above the Castle of Guimarães, it rises from the X sec, the Casa de Margaride. This property was owned by Countess Mumadona Dias and is referred to in the medieval documentation as "Villa Margaridi", in a letter that dates from the year 1021. - Chauffeur's Lodge is as the name implies, the old chauffeur accommodations of the House of Margaride. Casa de Margaride and its Garden are classified by the Portuguese State as a World Heritage Site.
