English Country Cottage

An ultimate English cottage with nearby Highclere Castle a 10 minute drive away. Lovely walks and pubs nearby and shopping in Newbury town centre. A lovely retreat for couples, friends, artists, writers, and those just looking for a peaceful getaway. The cottage is NOT suitable for children under 12 years of age because of the spiral staircase and pond. NO pets because we have severe allergies. The have fibre optic WiFi, so most of the time it’s brilliant. ***The cottage has very low ceilings.

Ideally situated quiet annex close to Newbury

Situated just outside the village of Highclere and a few minutes drive from Highclere Castle. We are a 10 minute drive to the centre of Newbury and 15 minutes from the M4 (J13). The Annex enjoys rural outlooks over Highclere Estate to the front and Great Pen Wood to the rear. It is a first floor separate annex providing privacy during your stay. The newly decorated cosy two bedroom cottage has a kitchen, sitting area, a separate modern bright bathroom. Private outside space is also available.

Beautiful countryside including Watership Down and lots to see and do, including Highclere Castle, Bombay Saphire, Winchester and more. Owner can recommend excellent local restaurants. Situated just outside the picturesque village of Yattendon, Manstone Cottage is surrounded by beautiful views of rolling country side. Spacious and elegantly furnished, with private parking the cottage is the ideal get away for couples, families or small groups. Within walking distance of the village with it's fantastic pub, shop, cafe, brewery and beauty salon you won't have much need to go far but it's also well situated for access to Newbury, Hungerford, Goring, Pangbourne and Henley.

Lovely self-contained annex with outdoor space

A lovely self-contained annex furnished to a high standard in a quiet rural location on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, close to Newbury and Oxford and walking distance to Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). Fenced secluded garden area with seating and BBQ for outdoor dining. The Annex is completely separate from our house with its own entrance and there's an allocated parking space for one car. Well behaved dogs are always welcome and there are some lovely walks on our doorstep.

My husband Andy and I own this one bedroom cottage, which has been carefully furnished and has parking and a small dedicated outdoor space.. It is an ideal base to explore the local area. Guests can visit Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), attend the races at Newbury Race Course or enjoy the walks in the surrounding area including Watership Down.
