Family-friendly holiday rentals in Giske Municipality

We recently stayed at Terje’s charming farmhouse in Norway’s Hjørundfjord, and it was a special experience. The farmhouse blends old-world charm with modern amenities and offers breathtaking views of the fjord. The house is equipped with all modern comforts, including a well-stocked kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, a big-screen smart TV, an outdoor hot tub, and comfortable beds to accommodate a large group. Two ferry ports a short drive from the farmhouse offer free rides to Ålesund, the roadless village of Trandal, and other destinations. Terje was exceptionally hospitable, providing great recommendations for local hiking activities and promptly responding to all our inquiries. He went above and beyond to make our stay at the farmhouse exceptional. Highly recommend this place for a peaceful and picturesque getaway!

This was our second stay with Jon Robert & Anna. It is a beautiful place across a small road from the lake with mountain views - including views of waterfalls & the glacier. The apartment is decorated with personal touches, making you feel like you are at home. There are MANY things to do just a drive away. Ålesund is only an hour away. We also drove to Runde (the famous bird island) from here. Jon Robert has a printed guide book with exact routes on driving tours of the area. He is so helpful and friendly. The apartment is very clean, and in very good condition.

My wife and I loved our stay! The house was clean, tidy and comfortable. The surrounding view was exceptional, all visible from the hot tub which was all too welcoming after a few days of hiking! Would recommend to anyone! 😁

Wonderful and unique property in a stunningly beautiful natural landscape. We wish we could have stayed longer to spend more time here. Easily the best lodging of our trip and likely the best airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. All of the various indoor/ outdoor areas at the property are awesome. And we were very lucky with weather and only one rainy day. It is quite steep/ many steps up and down between the main house, cabin, and boat house with additional lounge areas down by the water so may not be for everyone. Toril and her husband were also so gracious to show us all around the property at check in, even a bit later than expected. This place was very special and would love to stay there again some day!

We had a fantastic stay here. We have enjoyed all the facilities the cottage has to offer. Upon arrival, the fire was on and the hot tub was already wonderfully heated. The owner is friendly, attentive and responsive. We got good tips for the region. We would love to come back here again!

Helpful host, premium quality beds and amenities

Kristian was a terrific host. His home was very comfortable in walking distance to everything yet In a quiet area of town. The view from his apartment was also amazing. Kristian was in constant communication making our stay very easy. He also was great at offering ideas for day trips. We rented a car and drove to Geiranger which we highly recommend. The route Kristian gave us took us to some of the most beautiful areas of the country. We highly recommend staying at Kristian's home.

Both inside and outside are amazing…The nature is absolutely breathtaking, and the inside decoration is also really good and modern. You have everything you would need. Truly recommend!

This lovely place was our home for almost a month. The location is central and the house very cozy. The mountains are your backyard and the sea right in front of you. We made several trips to the surrounding area, including freeskiing in the mountains, surfing in Hoddevik, Runde puffin island, city visit to Ålesund and hikes in the area. There are several rental saunas in the area, the nearest one is 5 minutes away. The house is well equipped. The hosts Anne-Mari and Terje are very helpful. Sometimes there was bass from the road from the youth's cars, but it didn't bother us too much. Would love to go back again!

This peaceful place mixed with a comfortable place to call home was the ideal ending to a trip to Norway. The house is set up with great areas to sit and write, kick back and relax, cook delicious food, and get a good night's sleep. I enjoy the house and thought it was cozy. The island was quiet, the walks were inspiring and the sea and mountain views were breathtaking. Ruben's parents were a delight and so helpful and kind. I can't say enough about their generosity. If you're looking for a place to relax, reset, and unwind this is the ideal location. It's rare in this busy world to find a place where you can breath fresh air, move your body, be inspired by nature and feel safe in a cozy home. The island has sheep and llamas to entertain you! If I come back to Norway, I'll definitely make this part of my trip! Thank you to Ruben and his parents for creating a safe haven for us all to enjoy!

This was a great and quiet place. Nice view. We were 12 people and had plenty of space. Can recommend this place to anyone.

Good communication with Kristin. Everything was clear and well explained. The flat is spacious, plenty of space. The single beds in the rooms are a little smaller than we are used to, but nothing else to criticize!

Monica's home is Ivar is a wonderful nest overlooking the sea, a historic home full of charm, beauty and love. The airbnb apartment is located on the ground floor, spacious and bright and equipped with all amenities: fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, clothesline. Every detail is full of taste and the cleanliness is perfect, bed and pillows are comfortable and we slept perfectly. The location is exceptional, a 5-10 minute drive to Alesund in a nice residential area. The view from the windows of the living room is beautiful and going outside and directly overlooks the sea viewpoint. Monica is a perfect host and an exquisite person, she and Ivar really made us feel at home with their kindness and passion for hospitality and the tips we received for visiting the area were valuable. Excellent communication. The best stay in our our long Norwegian vacation, don't miss the chance to stop here. P.S. Ivar's beer is super!

Fantastic Airbnb and host, location is central to everything in the area in both winter (skiing) and summer (hiking). The space has a very comfortable bed, cosy fire and well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Sverre, Ruth & Geirs Cabin. The location is great and the views are really wonderful. Inside you find everything that you need from kitchen utensils to a pool table and skis. It is so cozy in the chairs, with the fireplace on and it’s snowing outside. We would recommend and come back again anytime. Thank you for the perfect trip!
