Barn accommodation in Forest of Dean District

Clare's cottage was perfect for our stay. It was very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. The location is just fantastic for exploring the wonderful valley with all it's natural wonder, and coming home to a warm fire was great.

Dave gave us a very friendly welcome on arrival and showed us around the property. Tracey had prepared a homemade cake for our stay along with a small basket of provisions to get us started. The cottage has a private, fenced garden (very useful to keep dogs safe) and is surrounded by extensive gardens that you can wander around too. The kitchen was supplied with everything needed and with both bedrooms being en-suite, neither couple felt they had an inferior room and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. A real home-from-home experience. The option to have use of the hot tub for an additional fee was the icing on the cake. Being on the edge of the Forest of Dean and close to Gloucester and Ross on Wye, there were plenty of options for excursions. We loved our weekend and would definitely cover again.

Lovely place to stay - extremely comfortable - hosts couldn't be more welcoming - and they even provide a welcome hamper.

We very much enjoyed our visit to Judith's barn in Kington, it was a great place to stay - comfortable, full of charm and character, and well-equipped. Judith was friendly, helpful and quickly responded to queries - we could not have asked for more and will definitely stay again. Thank you!

great stay at Carolyns place. quiet, peaceful with stunning views. Carolyn went above and beyond to assist with my requests. kids beds are for small kids so check beforehand as our 9 year old just fit the bottom bunk. we had a nice meal at the local pub and really enjoyed it. great getaway highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous and cosy Airbnb. The host was very friendly and responsive, and went out of her way to recommend some fab local spots for us. The beauty surrounding the home is stunning, and there are gorgeous walks to be had. Thanks for a wonderful stay — we will be back :)

We had a lovely week away with your 3 year old who absolutely loved the "holiday house". Everything was spotlessly clean, lots of essentials were provided and we felt very welcome as Pam & Geoff were friendly and helpful. Nearby to plenty of attractions and so made a good base for our trip. We would certainly visit again.

We loved our home for the week. It proved to be an ideal base to see the Cotswolds. There were shops a couple of miles away and we weren’t far from supermarkets in Evesham. The kitchen was well fitted, we Wanted for nothing. We will definitely recommend this venue to anyone wanting to visit the Cotswolds.

Excellent accommodation and location, we had a very pleasant stay. Hosts were very friendly and approachable, Chestnut Barn was very well layout, charming and homely. The bottle of wine, Bath Soft Cheese, and the breakfast Crossants were lovely and greatly appreciated. We visited Bath, Bristol and went to the Bath soft cheese farm for lunch. All very enjoyable, and well worth seeing, met up with family at local pub, and had an excellent stay. We look forward to visiting again. Many thanks Colin and Julie xx

My wife and I stayed here for a portion of an overall longer trip. This was by far our favorite stay. A beautiful place just as described, with easy access to the surrounding community. We will be back if we get the chance.

I am a regular guest and stay here whenever I am working in the local area. The accommodation is always spotlessly clean and very, very comfortable. The location is so peaceful and rural with beautiful gardens overlooking meadows. Penny & Simon are very friendly and helpful hosts and always leave some tasty welcome treats for me to enjoy - so thoughtful! I look forward to returning again soon x

We had a lovely stay at Bramble Cottage - it was really cosy, clean and the hot tub was great! The hosts are super helpful and quick to reply with any questions we had! Recommend this cottage to anyone who fancies a wholesome weekend away ☺️

Can’t thank Catherine enough. Incredibly helpful from booking the stay until we left. It’s a beautiful cosy barn, very peaceful indeed and we slept like babies. Catherine had thought of everything and we even had a welcome hamper with lovely bits x Really easy quick walks to the cheddar gorge. This was our first air B and B booking and we were very impressed. Firstly Andrew kept us informed pre arrival and was there to greet us. We felt very much at home and able to reach him if needed which we didn’t. We were particularly impressed with how clean the lodge was and at the attention to detail matching crockery, everything we could need in the kitchen and coordinated cushions, bedding etc. The bathroom was in an immaculate condition and again matching towels and the added beauty products. We would definitely re visit and pass on to friends and family. Thank you to both of you for a very pleasant stay.

Quiet & cosy apartment in countryside location. Plenty of space with separate well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge/dining and loft bedroom with additional WC. Large glass doors in living room overlook a beautiful private courtyard. Very relaxing, peaceful setting a short drive from places of interest in the area. Easy self check-in & communication with responsive but unobtrusive host. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Salty Barn. It was spotlessly clean, lovely decor and fully equipped. We loved the access to the games room too. We will be recommending it for sure.

We had the most incredible long weekend here. The location of the stay is just beautiful and so peaceful - with a fantastic pub a very walkable distance away which is right on the river. There is a wide range of incredible walks straight out the door too. The Cider Press is a really unique stay and had everything we could want and the fire pit was a great addition. Cheryl was incredibly welcoming and informative on the local area - if we are in the area again we will certainly be staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Amanda and Richard’s Airbnb! The location was absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful — the perfect escape. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed, especially with the lovely hamper and bottle of champagne. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel extra special. Amanda was a fantastic host — friendly, attentive, and clearly takes great pride in making sure her guests have the best experience. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! Valerie’s cottage is very peaceful and is the perfect place to stay while visiting the Cotswolds. The Old House Barn is very clean and had all the amenities you will need. Valerie provided us great recommendations for places to visit and some great restaurants. She is also quick to respond to any messages. I definitely give her and The Old House Barn 5 stars! We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future!

We have just spent 4 fabulous days at Joanne and Neil’s cottage. Very easy to find ( following the comprehensive directions from Joanne ) and beautiful in terms of the cottage itself and location. The cottage is beautifully decorated and curated inside and out and spotlessly clean. We would normally venture out to eat when staying away from home but happily ate at the cottage each evening as the kitchen is very well equipped and the dinning and lounge areas super cozy. Comfortable bed and very quiet location ensures a good nights sleep! Perfectly located to explore Hay on Wye and Brecon, and for hiking in the Brecon Beacons. A small local co-op and larger Morrisons in Brecon together with restaurants and bars within easy reach. You will need a car for all the above. Very kind and responsive hosts whose guests comfort and happiness at the cottage seemed a priority. Would stay again in a heartbeat ! Highly recommended.

A very enjoyable stay at The Barns. Both of the hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming and very happy to help with any problems we had. The place was beautiful, very clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit and we would love to visit again in the future :)

Fishers Retreat is idyllic, sweet against a mountain backdrop with a lake and nearby waterfall it has all the nature you could wish for. The barn itself is beautiful, clean and had lots of thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers. The bed was very xomfortable, the water very hot, the baths deep and the log burner very efficient. We travelled to and from the Hay Festival in about 30 mins. Katy and David are charming, book the fan place, you won't regret it.
