One of the oldest cottages in Fairford, Once owned by King Henry VIII. Tudor Cottage is a period Cotswold stone cottage in a row of terraced limestone properties on London Street in the pretty market town of Fairford, which is situated in the beautiful Coln Valley and the Cotswold Water Park
“I had high expectations from the lovely pictures and listing, but it was even better in person! There were so many thoughtful touches (bird seeds for spreading, dog snacks, games, lotions, a variety of bath salts, etc.). It truly felt like home, if my home was a beyond charming 500 year-old cottage (rather than a colonial-style home in a 90s suburb). The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I loved using the cute vanity to get ready each morning. The house was well-stocked in every area and surprisingly equipped with modern conveniences (dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, etc.) that blended pretty seamlessly. They did a great job with the design down to the smallest details (antique light switches, faucets and hardware, etc.) it was pretty easy to feel like you had been transported in time. You do need to be a little extra careful on the stairs, especially with kids, but there are decent hand rails and reminders on the wall to take them slowly. We came with two young kids and loved having a really nice playground, a library, lovely walking trails and shops just a short walk away. There is also a coffee shop a couple doors down with amazing brownies (not typically a chocolate fan) and a small farmers market on Wednesdays. Oh, and we really enjoyed lighting the fire at night (especially the first night when all we needed to do was drop a match on their perfectly prepared stack of wood and fire starters, lol). All in all, a wonderful trip. Wish we could have stayed longer!”
The picturesque Cotswold town of Fairford is perfect for exploring the area and is the home of the famous Royal International Air Tattoo. There is an abundance of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops all within walking distance as well as beautiful walks along the river and beyond. St Mary's church, dating back to 1497 holds the most complete set of medieval stained glass windows in England. There is a popular weekly Traders Market in the town square selling local produce and more.
“Very amazing homestay, the living room and room are very large and comfortable, and there are many board games for children, the key is that the kitchen is fully equipped, everything is available, the small yard is beautiful, the bathroom is also very comfortable, everything is special It's great, it's great. We spent a very pleasant three days here”
As an experienced super host I've learnt our annex's blend of comfort and style ensures guests return to us regularly. I make sure there are plenty of supplies in our well equipped modern kitchenette, fluffy dressing gowns for relaxing in before going out and toiletries of exceptional quality. “It was a perfect stay. The annex was cozy, warm and sparkling clean. Lizzie made sure to check us in and showed around and was responsive all the time. There are nice touches that made our stay nicer such as organic/natural bathroom amenities and items for a quick breakfast. The Wifi was fast and there is also Netflix and other steaming options. There is a designated park space to comfortably park your car.”
