This place is truly unique and the hosts are incredible. From the very start of our stay I knew it would be a memorable experience, from Eloiza meeting us at the cannons and leading us through the winding paths of the medieval city. As the description states it is clearly a medieval home, so you have to expect it will have the conveniences of a medieval home. That being said, you will not find a more beautiful location in Monsanto. Our host also graciously provided a breakfast feast each morning, which was so lovely and unexpected. There are not many restaurant options in mind, so definitely keep that in mind. This was an incredible stay and I hope we can go back again one day!

El apartamento está muy bien situado, limpio y camas y sofás cómodos. Como única pega en el apartamento de las 10 literas + habitación doble la nevera se queda muy pequeña y el salón lo mismo, no es para hacer una comida en casa porque no hay mucho espacio. Lo demás genial, muy limpio, ropa de cama y toallas de sobra, todo muy cuidado.

Todo genial, Eduardo ha sido muy buen anfitrión. Muy amable y atento y la casa estaba genial.

I got proposed to at this stunning mountain cottage in Penha Longa, and it was truly perfect. The home was immaculate—spotless and beautifully maintained. Our host went above and beyond, booking us incredible dinner spots and even helping to arrange a magical photoshoot the next day. Fresh bread was delivered every morning (so delicious!), and the hidden shop on the property was full of charming local gifts. The flowers were in full bloom, the mountain air was refreshing, and even the freezing pool turned into a core memory. Communication was flawless and the hospitality unmatched. I wish I could come back every month. This stay will forever hold a piece of my heart. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone that needs to get in touch with nature and peace with themselves. It’s so quiet and feels like the cottage you would dream of. The pictures don’t do it justice. We are so so happy and will be back. I have never felt able to leave a true 5 star review could be left until Javalina.

Cannot say enough about this place, its everything it says and lots more. The ladies that service the property along with preparing breakfasts were simply awesome. Aurora's chocolate cake was a hit, and we had it for dessert and breakfast! The location and views are postcard perfect and that comes with some nervous driving to get there, but once you know the quirks really not that bad, just be careful. Highly recommending this to friends that are planning a trip to this beautiful part of the world.

Nuestra estancia en la casa de Carmen ha constituido una experiencia inolvidable. Carmen es una anfitriona perfecta y cuidadosa, y ha sido tremendamente amable y paciente con nosotros. La casa es como en las fotos, ideal para una estancia en medio de la naturaleza. La localización y los parajes circundantes son increíbles. El emplazamiento es ideal para quien busca la tranquilidad, aunque también hay cerca muchas posibilidades de entretenimiento y diversión. La casa está perfectamente mantenida y no falta de nada. Muchas gracias, Carmen, no vemos el momento de volver.

Well located, spacious apartment. Close enough to walk into town, but a little outside the tourist frenzy. Marta was a gracious host, meeting us outside in the rain to help us park our rental car and show us around the apartment. She left a wonderful selection of food for our breakfasts, plus useful materials for us to plan our visit. We used four comfortable bedrooms and the common, comfortable living area. Would recommend this property to friends.

Juan was super helpful and provided basic breakfast items, which helped as we were tired and reached the apartment in the evening due to the electricity breakdown in the country. The apartment is the same replica of what's in the description, very comfortable and cosy. The washroom and towels were clean.

Lugar incluso mejor que en las fotos! Mayte es una anfitriona magnífica y super super recomendable. El lugar es amplio y con ascensor. A sólo 20 mins andando de la catedral. La única pega de la zona, que no del piso, es que el parking para motos que hay en la calle parece no ser muy bien recibido. Cuando llegamos no había ninguna moto, y por la noche alguien tiro la moto que había aparcado mi hermano, que venía con ella desde Madrid. Motoristas: aparcad dentro, que Mayte tiene un garaje maravilloso para ello.

todo excelente! la casa estaba impoluta y tenia de todo. gelines muy amable y servicial. Nos dejó cafe, bolleria de desayuno, fruta, leche, zumo, etc. venimos todos los años a leon a una competicion deportiva y estaba al lado del pabellon, sin duda los siguientes años volveremos a alojarnos aqui

Fantástico fin de semana en el apartamento de Nuria. Ella muy simpática, amable, atenta, formal... Todo lo bueno que te imagines. Tuvimos opción de salir más tarde de la hora, lo que se agradece infinito. El apartamento reformado y decorado con muchísimo gusto, con detalles muy curiosos. Muy limpio y con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días. Estuvimos 3 y no echamos nada en falta, y cómodos en cuanto a espacio. Está en una calle comercial peatonal en el centro, a escasos 5-10 minutos andando de la Plaza Mayor, por ejemplo. El parking amplio y comodísimo disponer de él en una zona donde no es habitual, está al lado de la calle del apartamento. El WiFi funcionó correctamente y la calefacción también. No sé si me olvido de algún punto importante, pero si me olvido lo que pudiese escribir sería algo bueno seguro. Es el mejor Airbnb en el que he estado alojada. Si tengo que volver a Valladolid, no dudaré en volver aquí. ¡Muchas gracias por todo, Nuria!!! 🫶

Passei dois dias magníficos com a minha família à Casa dos Vinhais. O anfitrião, o José, é muito simpático, atento e prestável e fomos optimamente recebidos por ele. A casa é realmente especial com os móveis e louças antigas da família com a sala muito agradável e os quartos muito queridos. Aqui sente-se e respira-se a história. A vista da casa para o rio Douro é linda e nós não pudemos aproveitar para banhar no rio mas, nos meses mais quentes, daria para aproveitar bem o exterior. Podemos pedir para fazer o jantar lá em casa e o bacalhau com natas e a alheira preparado pelo José e Graça foi divinal. Para além disso, o pequeno-almoco está incluído na estadia e é mesmo delicioso! Espero voltar de novo aqui a esta casa. Obrigada por tudo!

Hola , la experiencia a sido la primera y la valoro como muy buena , quizás si debo hacer un comentario constructivo me faltaron alguna toalla más y la habitación algo estrecha . Por lo demás genial . Rosa es una mujer muy correcta

Quinta da Xandica, located just outside of Valença do Douro village, was a fantastic, and unique experience. It’s rare these days to find an Airbnb hosted by a “real” (boots on the ground) host who is not only there to share local knowledge and accommodates your needs, but literally who also welcomes you in to the ACTUAL family home. It reminded me of a traditional bed and breakfast, in all of the best ways. (Including a lovely breakfast in a dining room!!!) The Quinta was home to Matilde”s great grandfather, and is shared today with her grandmother and father (three generations). It’s a working farm, and an all around charming, beautiful place. Even during our unseasonably rainy visit, the grounds and area was stunning. Practically speaking, the bed was comfortable & the water hot. Dinner made by Matilde was a reasonably priced and delicious with estate wine. We also thoroughly interaction with other guests, the chipped dog, “Bill”, and access to the surrounding area. A treasure!

Our stay at Quinta Dos Carqueijais was a perfect 10/10! We chose the Villa das Oliveiras, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surroundings. It truly feels like you're immersed in the forest with beautiful views of the lake. The entire property is seamlessly integrated with nature, creating an idyllic setting for complete disconnection. The accommodation itself is stunning, perfectly equipped, and incredibly comfortable—far better than what you might expect from the photos. The breakfast is plentiful, with great attention to detail. Additionally, we had the chance to enjoy the spa facilities, which include a jacuzzi, sauna, massages, and a heated indoor pool, all at a very competitive rate. Quinta Dos Carqueijais is the perfect place to unwind for a weekend getaway or to celebrate a special occasion near the Peneda-Gerês National Park

Un lugar encantador y perfecto para desconectar y con unas anfitrionas muy atentas y cercanas.

Luis Alberto estuvo muy atento en todo momento, desde antes de la llegada hasta después. La habitación era tal cual la descripción y todo correcto, además disponía de desayuno. Por poner un pero el ruido de las palomas en la ventana.

Foram extremamente simpáticos. Espaço agradável. O Sr. António recebeu-nos muito bem. Deixou entrar antes da hora e sair depois da hora facilitando as refeições das crianças. Espaço partilhado sendo que os proprietários vivem lá mas respeitam imenso os hóspedes e a privacidade.
