This was ideal for our purposes - having a break on our CDT through hike. The space was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Karlene was very helpful.

Clothing Optional - “Bare House Cottage"

MarkRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I couldn’t have fathomed crossing paths with more perfect hosts, who together emit this energetic zeal & light for life with an inspiring resonance. In the midst of the ruggedly prismatic scenery along Hwy 96, serenely cradled by the privacy of ponderosas & pinyon-junipers in the hills below the San Pedro Parks Wilderness, sits Mike and Lori’s Bare Cabin. Natural light spills through the abundant open windows, framing the outdoors, as hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and other avifauna swoop into view. Whilst sleeping in the nest-like loft space encircled by open windows, you may awaken feeling a “bare-able” lightness of being: the morning sun pours over your limbs and the breeze-kissed air heightens your senses. The heaviness of the outside world further dissipates as you explore Lori’s thoughtfully arranged trails. The occasional matzukaze of whispering winds through the pines feels euphoric, if not rejuvenating to one’s spirit. Its a pity I'm only given 1000 characters to review it:/

Abiquiu Artist Casita Overlooking Plaza Blanca (Artist's House Overlooking Plaza Blanca)

ShawnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The Casita exceeded my expectations both inside and outside of its walls. The stone floor, the hobbit door, and the Turkish rugs provided me with the artistic vibe I was seeking on the inside. But the setting was so stunning, I kept getting drawn outside. I would visit the "end of the world" view (only a 10 minute walk) of Plaza Blanca several times a day, to witness the changing light. During my 3 day stay I visited Taos, Ghost Ranch (hiked Chimney Rock and went on the O'Keeffe landscape tour), Dar al Islam, and O'Keeffe's Abiquiú Home/Studio. In the evenings, I used the two burners to cook. WiFi was stable for Zoom meetings. And I appreciated the comfortable bed. Jeremy was very helpful with location suggestions both before and during my stay. I highly recommend the Casita!
