One tip. Stay in Caniço. A very nice little town with nice people and very relaxed. Accommodation in Funchal is expensive and the city is stressful and noisy. We recommend this place with all our heart!

Absolutely recommended accommodation. We felt right at home. Our host was very friendly and the apartment very nice. Spacious and super cozy. The communication was super quick and easy. We had everything we needed. The location of the apartment is also great. From the balcony, you can look out to sea. There were some really good restaurants within walking distance. We will be happy to come back.

A lovely apartment: convenient, well-situated and pleasant views. Good location if you have a hire car; Funchal isn’t far at all, and there are many local shops and restaurants. Host-wise, unless you speak a little Portuguese, it can be slightly difficult; Jose is happy to call and speak for his mother. Very friendly and welcoming!!!
