The photos are what made me choose this shepherd's hut over others, but I was still stunned at just how beautiful it was. The decor is stunning and the location is fantastic. to have the sheep in the field next door topped it off! the bed was so comfy and cosy and the outdoor space was lovely. the hosts were so friendly and were so responsive. I'm looking forward to visiting again!

We wanted a quiet and peaceful break away and this was exactly what we got ! Beautiful surroundings. We loved the quietness with just birdsong to listen to . A huge plus is that the whole gardens / grounds is completely, safely fenced in so our dog could roam to his absolute delight. I've never seen him so active especially around the two duck ponds. It really kept him busy. The bed was really comfortable and the space well set out . We were lucky that the main house was not booked while we were there so we had total privacy.

My husband and I had a wonderful three-night stay—it was everything we were looking for! The beautiful landscapes, sheep roaming nearby, and of course, sweet Sandy made it feel like a second home. The location is a perfect base for exploring places like Canterbury and the stunning coastal areas. We really enjoyed peaceful walks around the area, and a highlight of the walk was the fresh, delicious eggs from Longland Farm. The hosts were incredibly lovely and welcoming. During our visit, William kindly invited us to watch sheep shearing—it was our first time seeing it, and such a unique experience! The place has everything you need, and we especially loved the telescope provided by the hosts—it allowed us to spot all sorts of wildlife across the landscape. We’re already missing Sandy and would absolutely recommend this place to our friends and anyone looking for a relaxing countryside escape!

The whole family (all adults) really enjoyed the stay at Valley View Barn, which was a surprise for my Sisters Birthday. Jean & Graeme were informative & supportive hosts, even bringing us a camping stove when we had a power cut! Great Welcome pack, everywhere was spotlessly clean and so many homely touches, certainly home from home. The beds were super comfy & always plenty of hot water for showers etc. Outside shack was great for evening drinks & a place to relax & unwind ready for the next days adventures. We had a full itinerary visiting places we hadn't been for 50 years. Margate, Cliftonville, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Canterbury, Whitstable plus 2 National Trust Properties. The Barn was a brilliant base to make more memories we would definitely recommend & maybe return again one day. Thanks again, Jean & Graeme for letting us stay in your wonderful home. Merlin Bird app was great, identified 11 birds in 1st 10mins, amazing place. Loved watching the sheep & chickens
