Cottage holiday rentals in Barbizon

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Fernanda and Carlos’s home. They were extremely welcoming upon our arrival, and we enjoyed talking with and getting to know them! The house itself is bright and spacious, and my family enjoyed the views of the garden from the bedrooms and main living area. The property is incredible. We loved exploring the apple and pear orchards, tomato garden, forest, and fish ponds. Most mornings and evenings we saw deer in the yard. Our last morning we saw a buck and a doe at the pond in front of the patio. We also liked wandering near the large pond in the back and watching the fish. Over all, my family and I truly enjoyed our time at Carlos and Fernanda’s home, and are thankful we spent time there.

Absolutely gorgeous property, nestled in its own woodland. The garden was carpeted in bluebells during our mid-April stay. A wonderful sanctuary.

Perfect accommodation, true to the photos. Impeccable communication with Freddy. Ideal if you want to enjoy the jacuzzi and the terrace because the city has no interest.

We had a lovely stay at Pascal's. The fenced garden was perfect for the children and our dog, and we really enjoyed eating outside under the fig tree. There was enough room for both our families. The house was well located to visit the surrounding villages. We'd love to come back.

Armelle is a very charming and welcoming person, always very attentive. A nice, interesting person, good advice who did everything to make our stay easier. Her place is exactly as described, there were 2 of us and it was perfect. Refurbished, clear and pleasant accommodation with a very cute little garden. Everything is clean, beautiful and neat at Armelle's, I can only advise to go there.

We had a great time in Nathalie's lovely house and enjoyed the small garden with dream weather! The house is super well equipped, the bedding is great and the shower is very nice. The village is absolutely charming 10 minutes from Fontainebleau. In short, we'll be happy to come back.

Despite major problems on arrival beyond Mathieu's control, he was super responsive in solving the problem right away. It is very nice to know that you can count on the responsiveness of the host in case of problems. The accommodation was clean, in very good condition. The double bed is very good, the two beds in the bedroom are children's beds, beware. But the best part is the little bit of garden that allows you to bring the car in. I recommend this accommodation, thank you Mathieu.

Great weekend with friends in the green and cool at Reno's, we greatly appreciated the very well-equipped house and the pool especially with the high heat. The village is beautiful and the location is perfect! Thank you for the welcome and good communication, very nice host.

Lovely place to stay for climbing in Fontainebleau. The place had everything needed and the hosts had great recommendations for the local area

Debby and Herve are the nicest of hosts. Very good and friendly communications and always very helpful. We had a very warm welcome and felt at home immediately. From every room of the cottage you have a lovely view of the garden. There is a little corridor running behind the kitchen and the second bedroom by which you can reach the toilet and the bathroom. We enjoyed having tea and lounging on the lawn in front of the house under the huge chestnut trees in total peace and quiet. If going by car, you can either park on the street for free or on the premises in front of the cottage, which is very good for (un-) packing. There are shops within walking distance and of course lots of them in Fontainebleau. Don't miss the castle and its various parks. You should plan to go to the little town of Barbizon, famous home of a painters' colony. Vaux-le-Vicomte is worth a visit, too. If you have the chance, book a Saturday Candlelight Evening with fireworks. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The accommodation is very quiet, a few minutes from the forest by car. We also really enjoyed being able to eat in the garden. François and his family are really very kind and discreet. This is an address we recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay with a group of friends. The house was super peaceful, & surrounded by nature - we loved watching the swallows all day & listening to the owls at night. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable living spaces, and a great location for morning runs to the bakery in Larchant & nearby climbing crags. Esther was a great host - friendly & responsive in all communication. Thanks!

We had a great stay at Sofia's in Fontainebleau! The communication at check-in was flexible and personal, which made the start very pleasant. A small downside was that we did not receive any instruction in waste separation or similar topics, but that did not spoil the stay overall. The place was extremely clean and well maintained. We particularly liked the excellent layout of the bedrooms, each with its own bathroom - perfect for a group of 8 people. The living space and kitchen are functionally furnished, with the kitchen furniture and electrical appliances being a little outdated, but this has hardly affected the comfort. The outdoor area was impeccable. The veranda offered beautiful opportunities to stretch out hammocks, and the outdoor kitchen was impressive – unfortunately, we could not use it due to the weather. Sofia, it was a great pleasure to be your guests.

As regular visitors to the airshow in La Ferte Alais, we chose Viviane's house this time. It was a very good choice. The distance to the airshow was only about 15 km. Viviane's house was very well furnished and is absolutely quiet. Everything was clean. There are good restaurants nearby. The famous Vaux-le-Vicomte castle is about 30 minutes away by car. Viviane and Jean Marc were very great hosts. We will be happy to come back.
