Holiday rentals with lake access in Avon

We loved our stay at the Lost Loggerhead! Richard and Stephanie remodeled the house and did a phenomenal job of making it a “comfortable home” and not just a place to stay. Highly recommend this house especially for a family with several kids or even two very small families. Thank you Richard and Stephanie!

Hannah’s place was tucked away from the main road in lovely neighborhood on Hatteras Island. The cottage was attractively decorated, comfortable, and private. It was just what my husband Tom and I were looking for. A great location to explore everything the outer banks has to offer.

Great location and great value for the home. We enjoyed the view and hot tub! The house is definitely in need of some updates and the beds were very stiff. The master bath shower is VERY small but there are others to use in the house. The house is a great size and very close to the new Rodanthe bridge.

Loved this house! We haven’t been on a family vacation together in quite some time, this was the perfect house to bring us all together for an awesome beach trip! Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay. The pictures don’t do it justice as there is just so much more this house offers. When needing help to reset the hot-tub they immediately responded. I would have appreciated a different form of them entering the property maybe with a call of some sort as they just came in and I didn’t even notice they made the fix until hours later but still was awesome how they did it so quickly. The house is just a few blocks from clean beaches and several places to eat and spend time. More so during the open season though. My family of 12 enjoyed the stay and fit perfectly in the home!

We weren't able to find a place for our family OBX getaway as early as we normally do because of conflicting schedules...but we're really happy that, after looking at properties all the way from Hatteras to Corolla, we were lucky enough to find this house and that it was available at a time that worked for us! The neighborhood is secluded and has a great mile loop for a.m. runs. The private boat ramp was great for launching our kayak and SUPs for paddling around the sound. Getting to the beach was no big deal, even with little ones...we rented a 2 wheel beach cart from DVO and rode our bikes after setting up the shade. The house itself is very comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen and nice pool. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms...even one on the deck poolside. Matt was both proactive and responsive if we needed to know anything. Our two weeks seemed to fly by!

“Lady of Dare” was an incredible stay for myself and my extended family. Altogether, we had a group of 10 adults and two large dogs. We couldn’t believe the fair price of this house for our stay when we were planning and acted quickly to reserve our week. Man are we glad we did. The property has everything you could possibly want for an OBX beach vacation. Hot tub, pool, multiple decks, plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms for privacy, large open living space, HUGE deck bar by the pool, outdoor showers AND bathroom. The list could continue on. Great location next to the Avon Fishing Pier. Close enough to shops and restaurants but far enough that we had 100 yards of beach to ourselves everyday. I can’t say enough about “Lady of Dare”, it exceeded all of our expectations in every way. Both Russell and Hannah were incredibly responsive anytime we had questions or concerns and made sure they were resolved immediately. We will be back again as I can’t recommend Lady of Dare enough! Kristin and Mark's place was absolutely gorgeous - you can't beat those sunsets or the peaceful surroundings sitting out on their dock! From the convenience of the location to the well-stocked house, it was a wonderful vacation for our family. I hope we can return some day!

Great house and great host. Had to make a last second change from a previous house we were staying in and Michelle was able to fit us in the night we asked and even before our allotted time. Made sure we had everything we needed and was always responsive. Very appreciative for her and her flexibility. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend to stay here.

Our family loved spending the week here! The incredible kitchen is so well stocked and fun to cook in, the beds are all very comfortable, and the location is great - easy beach access and beautiful views. It’s walkable to a lovely coffee shop and movement studio, and close to any and all amenities you may need while still feeling private.

Another fantastic Spring Break at the Best Box! The nicest, cleanest, most relaxing rental we’ve ever found. Didn’t think the property could be any better than it was last year, but the owners have managed to make many creative and thoughtful upgrades. Enjoyed days at the beach, days on the sound, chartered a boat for fishing, ate tons of seafood, and saw the best sunsets right from the deck. Literally took advantage of everything in this house - from crabbing to fishing to baggo to flying kites to playing board games to darts and foosball. Oh and kayaking, relaxing in the hammock, and tubing, too.
