The Wind Mill

Beautifully located in hills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean sits the Marinhas windmill. The windmill dates from the year 1758 and was built in the traditional northern Portuguese style with circular walls, two floors, an entrance on the grown floor and two windows on the upper floor. It is classified as a municipal heritage building. The mill is 130 meters above sea level thus providing a breathtaking view over the towns and ocean and a unique retreat for the more adventurous guest.

This space has just been renovated and we have built a small kitchen where you can cook and make breakfast, including a small dining area. Relax in this unique and peaceful getaway, 1.8 km from the city centre of Porto, next to the Douro River and the Port Wine cellars. You can walk along the river to Porto, or you can stroll through the grounds of the house in a small private forest.
