The Saddlery Cottage

Beautiful converted cottage in the grounds of an historic Victorian country house in rural Wales. Wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi, stunning views of the Black Mountains. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, garden-lovers, or horse-riders of all ages. Just 450 yards on a private drive through the estate from a barn which sleeps 8 (see 'Eco-Barn in the Brecon Beacons'). Ideal also for larger gatherings. Dogs welcome; a maximum of two permitted. The cottage is located on a 19th century country house estate of about 10 acres of gardens, lawns and woods. There are three bedrooms - a double ensuite on the ground floor, and two upstairs bedrooms (two doubles, one can be made up as twin beds) that share a large bathroom. A double-height kitchen and an open plan living/dining area with a banquette, a woodburning stove, two large comfy sofas and fabulous views. One side of the cottage looks onto a cobbled stable yard, and the other onto its own garden, then beyond that parkland, Llangorse Lake and the Black Mountains. Fabulous restaurants and farm shops are within a short drive as well as the lake, with boating facilities, beautiful walks out of your front door, and great biking trails. An all-around perfect location for a peaceful holiday in rural Wales. The cottage has its own entrance and parking, also its own garden with a table and chairs. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds of Treberfydd House, and are free to bring up to two pets. My husband and I and our family live a couple of minutes' walk from the Saddlery, and are available to help with any questions guests may have. Completely rural idyll - Perfect for those who want to escape the city and drink in the joys of the countryside. You would need a car to get around. Wellies are recommended, and good walking gear advisable for the hills. Booking is normally for a minimum of three nights. Abergavenny - Authentic Welsh Living in a Wonderful Cottage

The entire house and enclosed outside area, complete with shabby chic summer house is yours. Very private. The two main bedrooms have zip and link beds which can be converted to Superking and Kingsize on request. As above, it’s all yours....there’s a separate laundry equipped with washing machine and dryer, and a basin in which to clean shoes and dogs. A phone call and short walk away. Definitely not under your feet. The home is in a quiet, picturesque neighbourhood. From here, walk to tasty restaurants, lively local pubs, and explore the town centre's boutique shops. There are also fun activities nearby from fishing and horse riding to hiking and historic spots. Ideally situated you don’t need a car if you intend to stay in and around Abergavenny. It’s a delightful town on your doorstep. If you want to venture further afield there are buses ( 2minutes walk) taxis and trains and of course your car parked securely on the street outside the cottage. There is a secure side entrance where bikes can be brought around and kept securely...either with a cover or in the summer house. There’s even a dog flap in the kitchen door for canine companions.
