Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Zmijavci

SHE House was as advertised. We quickly called her home feeling acclimated & comfortable. Our GPS sent us some terrible way initially but the locals were very friendly offering us assistance. Our host was patient & accommodating showing us how many ways to reach the house ("all roads lead to SHE House"). We really enjoyed how centrally located the home was to all things on Brac Island. We realized our visit was a bit early for the weather & the season when our original ferry from Makarska was cancelled due to bad weather but no worries we just had to go to Split. The wind was so strong it actually blew open the latched front door one afternoon. The soft throws in the basket were nice & cozy-really appreciated. Some of our favorite meals were at Pumparela Restaurant & Taverna Riva in Bol; Konoba Kopacina & Restaurant Ziza in Donji Humac; Gastro Diva in Makarska. Driving in Croatia is NOT for the faint of heart but if you happen to be on the D8 stop for coffee at Strada.

The villa is fantastic and the local area is quiet but has enough restaurants and bars to keep you busy. Getting in and out of Split is easy and Uber is very good value (do not use local taxis). The standout feature of the property is the outside area including the views. It is easy to access the sea and beach, and the water is beautiful. The only potential to the villa is how it is split across two properties. This was not an issue for us at all, and for some people this may be a bonus, but worth noting.

en France nous avons un roman très connu où l'auteur (Marcel Pagnol) évoque avec nostalgie la demeure de ses vacances enfantines. Et bien c'est tout fait cela que nous avons retrouvé dans la maison d'Iva : des souvenirs à créer pour nos enfants. Tout est simple, tout est beau, l'acceuil est parfait, les chambres spacieuses...bref nous avons passé en famille de (très très) belles vacances.

We had the most wonderful time staying at Patria Suite. The accommodation was perfect - luxurious, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. The private terrace and roof top pool are really special. However, even better than this were the hosts. We wish we could give more than 5* for this! All so warm, friendly and welcoming (but never intruding on our privacy - you would never know that they live on the lower floors, other than they are there to help when ever you need anything). They provided everything we needed for our 7 month old baby (even buying a new mattress for the cot, baby bath and toys especially for him!). The fresh fruit and vegetables from Damira’s garden are spectacular. It was such a special place to stay. The care and attention to detail from the family made this THE best Air BnB we have ever stayed in.

My whole family was obsessed with this place. The adults loved the beautiful scenery and the peacefulness and the kids loved the hot tub and the swings. The house is adorable and very nice and the views were even better than the pictures. We loved meandering around Humac and being close to so many interesting small villages to explore. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat on the island of Hvar, you will be hard pressed to find something better than Mario’s place.

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Milena and Mirko’s villa. From the moment we arrived, Milena made us feel incredibly welcome. She was warm, thoughtful, and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality was truly above and beyond – always available, kind, generous and full of advice and local secrets.  Mirko was equally lovely – a kind-hearted host who regularly checked on the villa to make sure everything was perfect. He even brought us thoughtful little gifts during our stay, which made us feel extra special. The villa itself is immaculately maintained. The pool and hot tub are outstanding, and the outdoor summer kitchen is a dream come true – perfect for cooking and relaxing in the stunning surroundings. The view from the villa gave us a true sense of peace and escape. We can't recommend this place enough. It’s clear that Milena and Mirko put their hearts into hosting this villa. We would definitely return.

The hosts were super warm and friendly. The building is situated in a quiet village and has a beautiful vegetable garden. The kitchen is well equipped and the hosts even helped us out with some special requests. There is a small store, and in summer comes a bakery and a vegetable car frequently. We drove 1,5 hours to a beautiful beach. Thanks for the great hospitality! We will be back!

I had a fantastic stay at Lukas' Airbnb in Podstrana. The location is truly unbeatable—just a 15 to 20-minute drive into Split, making it perfect for exploring the city, and only a 5-minute drive to the beautiful seafront. The villa itself is immaculate; it's clear that every detail has been thoughtfully considered, ensuring you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Luka was an exceptional host. He responded very quickly to all my enquiries and was always available and eager to offer great recommendations to enhance my visit. He went above and beyond to assist me, which truly made my experience memorable. I highly recommend Lukas' place for anyone looking for a well-located, comfortable, and welcoming stay in Podstrana. I would definitely stay here again!

Unser Urlaub in Pisak war herrlich, auch aufgrund der schön gelegenen Wohnung. Mehrere kleine Strände sind unmittelbar und fussläufig schnell erreichbar. Sie waren wenig frequentiert und von schönen Felsen und Baumbestand umgeben. Einfach traumhaft. Das Wasser war Kristallklar und schimmerte türkisblau. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Es fehlte auch nichts an notwendiger Ausstattung. Zur Begrüßung überraschte uns Mario mit einem Teller Schinken und Käse und einer Flasche Wein. Dank der Klimaanlage waren die Temperaturen nachts in Ordnung, man sollte nur darauf achten, die Tür zum Schlafzimmer immer ganz geöffnet zu lassen, da sich das Gerät im Flur befindet. Eine Mückennetz befindet sich nur am Schlafzimmerfenster, eine Mückentüre zum Balkon, wäre noch eine kleine Anregung. Es war ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt, den wir nur weiterempfehlen können!

Just a wonderful apartment, perfect distance from the lovely town of Jelsa, nice and quiet and with immediate access to the water. Bojana is a wonderful host, incredibly generous and kind, she quickly felt more like a friend than just a host. We would love to come back. Med gode erfaringer fra ifjor, valgte jeg å bo hos Sanja i år også. Som i fjor ble jeg både hentet og brakt tilbake til busstasjonen. Leiligheten ligger et stykke opp i bakken, noe som passer meg utmerket siden jeg liker å gå, både til sentrum, til Nugal Beach og på fjellet Leiligheten er utstyrt med alt jeg kunne ønske meg, nok skap-plass, badet er funksjonelt og fyller mine behov. Vaskemaskinen ble brukt flere ganger, og det var håndklær i overflod. Airconditionen er en livredder på varme netter. Man føler seg ivaretatt hos Sanja, hun sender melding og spør hvordan det går og om jeg trenger noe. Da jeg nevnte ønske om å leie en sykkel, tryllet tante Gordana fram en flott sykkel og hjelm som jeg fikk låne mens jeg var der.. Nærmeste matbutikk er kun et minutt unna, det var praktisk. Det blir nok Sanjas leilighet også neste gang jeg drar til Makarska☺️

wir waren sehr zufrieden,Iris und die Familie von Iris waren alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. die Unterkunft ist sehr nah zum Strand. Sauber war es. Ruhig auch. Balkon Ausblick zum Meer und Sonne ☀️ den ganzen Tag satt. Das Appartement hat eben alles was man benötigt zum Leben. Wir hatten besseren Internet als Zuhause. Eine phänomenale Unterkunft mit einer top Ausstattung! Einfach die Seele baumeln lassen und diesen tollen Ausblick genießen. Jedes Detail wurde sorgsam durchdacht und der Pool ist super sauber. Der Zugang zum Strand ist gigantisch, jede Ecke auf dem Weg zum Strand ist ein Schmuckstück für sich. Alles extrem gepflegt. In Laufnähe (ca 5 Minuten) ein gut sortierter Mini-Supermarkt und 2 Restaurants. Die Gastgeberin Ana bekommt eine 10/10, extrem kompetent, zuvorkommen, unkompliziert und einfach besonders.

Fabulous beach house vibe. We absolutely loved staying right on the beach - beautiful sunlit mornings, spectacular sunsets and easy to swim (even if the water was a little chilly!). Short easy walk into the chilled out village of Drasnice with relaxing seafront cafes. Excellent location on the Makarska Riviera with easy access (by car) to amazing beaches like Punta Rata at Brela. If you fancy a bit of adventure, it's also convenient for the Bikovo National Park with its dramatic Skywalk. Emi was a very kind host, giving us homemade bread and cookies and even a souvenir gift at the end of our stay. Her son Rato was also very helpful and quickly responded to our request for more towels. The house is a cosy beach cottage, quite rustic but very cute. The kitchen is small and doesn't have an oven so it challenged our cooking skills a bIt but we got on fine and there is a dishwasher, washing machine and great shower.

Nous avons passé 10 jours chez Antonia. Et tout y était parfait. Les petites attentions, le logement super propre, la vue incroyable, l’équipement au top. Mention spéciale pour la douche, la terrasse, la proximité du centre et du port et bien sur cette vue incroyable du matin au soir, même la nuit c’était magique ! La cerise sur le gâteau c’est Antonia elle même. Quelle douceur, quelle gentillesse. Merci beaucoup de cet accueil. À bientôt je l’espère.

Fabulous apartment in a great location with an amazing and memorable view. Apartment is comfortable with great amenities. Everything’s well thought out. Great bedding, plenty of towels, hooks, laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, and a bottle of wine! The espresso machine was fantastic! He met us at the ferry dock and helped us carry our luggage up the stairs. Perfect stay! Highly recommend! The view from the apartment balcony is the best!

Maya, her son, and father are amazing!!! Very friendly and accommodating. We spent the most time here during our 2 week Euro trip. Fantastic views from the balcony and a great place to relax with lounge chairs and a table to eat at. Right on the water with a great walk down to the shore where you can jump right into the sea! Space was modern, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was SO nice. By far the nicest bathroom of anywhere we stayed. Maya's father took us out on his boat with his beagle. It was amazing. He knew the best spots, shared cool information/stories. It was a very authentic/non touristy experience. Maya let us borrow snorkel gear and that was beyond awesome because we snorkeled in the sea by the house but also on our boat trip which was truly special. She also provided homemade olive oil which was divine. WONDERFUL experience and stay.

Perfekte, vollständig ausgestattete Unterkunft. Sogar verschiedenste Waschmittel lagen parat, ebenso Grundlagen der Küche wie Kaffee, Zucker, Öle, Essig usw. Die Lage zwischen Supermarkt und Strand ist ein Traum. Alles modern, sauber und großzügig geschnitten. Die Bilder in der Wohnung sind ungewöhnlich und einen Blick wert 🤭. Bis auf den Parkplatz ist auch alles total unkompliziert. Um zum Parkplatz auf dem Innenhof zu gelangen, am besten in der Einbahnstraße gegen den Strich fahren wie die Einheimischen 😉 Kroatien ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert, Split besonders, und diese Unterkunft kann ich nur empfehlen 👍.

We really enjoyed our stay and agree that the balcony is the best place to enjoy coffee in the morning and the sunsets in the evening. Loved being able to quickly walk into town but also being away from the crowds a bit. The views were amazing, the apartment space was huge and we loved having a washing machine to do laundry. Ericka and her husband were so helpful with suggestion of where to eat and places to walk, to the amazing reference book in the apartment. Would definitely choose the apartment when in town!

We stayed a week at the apartment. Lea and her family were very friendly and helpful. Private beach right outside. Supermarket and restaurants within walking distance. Uber to Split took around 20 minutes and cost 10-15 euro. We had a wonderful time, would recommend!

This was the PERFECT place to stay in Split. The location was ideal for us — close enough to walk easily to town, but far enough to be peaceful and quiet. Easy access to the beach. The apartment was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a view we will never forget. Igor was a wonderful host, very kind and helpful, and gave us some wonderful recommendations for food and drinks in town! Highly recommend and hope we can make it back someday.

Ich durfte einen Monat in Lila’s und Borko’s Apartment verbringen und habe die Zeit sehr genossen. Beide sind sehr herzliche und aufmerksame Gastgeber und versorgen den Gast mit allem, was für einen sorgenfreien, entspannten und schönen Aufenthalt notwenig ist. Bei längeren Aufenthalten wird auch zwischendrin die Wohnung makellos gereinigt. Der Blick aus den Dachfenstern ist traumhaft, da sich die Wohnung fast am höchsten bebauten Punkt befindet. Die Lage der Wohnung ist einfach perfekt. Man kann sich jeden Tag aufs Neue entscheiden, ob man lieber durch die kleinen, lebendigen Gassen mit zahlreichen Restaurant runter zur Riva schlendert oder doch in den großen Marjan Park, der direkt oberhalb der Wohnung beginnt. Man ist also genau in der Mitte zwischen Stadt und Natur. Hier finden sich auch viele schöne, kleine Buchten und Strände. Mein Favorit war der Kasjuni Beach. Ich habe mit bei Lila und Borko sehr wohl gefühlt und würde mich freuen, bald wieder zurückzukehren.
