Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for 3 weeks! Just the right size for 1-2 people. Great appliances, clean, easy to get to, clear hotspot instructions for wifi, isolated, and always a joy driving by the fields of cows on my way down to and back from Athens. Would absolutely stay here again!

I reached out to Dean with a few questions prior to booking, and he was kind, helpful and responsive from the get go. He offered flexible check in and out times, offered tons of local recommendations and thoughtfully answered our many questions. He was so easy to communicate with, friendly and quick to hear back from. In our opinion, the photos of this listing do NOT do the property justice! It is such a unique spot, perched in a cozy nook in the woods, but easily accessible to Athens and other communities. It is surrounded by greenery and brush. Super private and peaceful. The interior is well appointed, clean and felt like home. We explored the woods behind the property and found an old structure that appeared to have many years in between its once function and beauty. Dean was able to share a very cool backstory. If I could give 100 stars, I would! We had such a wonderful experience, and Margot & John are the most lovely, welcoming & kind people. They were so generous with their time and space, and it was a blessing to get to know them! We learned so much about farm life, and were so grateful for the opportunity to be hands-on with the farm chores. My daughter loved gathering eggs, feeding the chickens & caring for the goats. We loved Tibby the barn cat and Barron the horse. It was so fun watching Jim the border collie (the friendliest dog ever) herd the sheep and goats. The cabin is perfect - cozy & comfortable with everything we needed. The location is so peaceful & quiet with beautiful views of the pastures. Roasting marshmallows around the fire pit & admiring the stars was the perfect way to end an evening. Also close to the popular hiking trails (Old Man’s Cave, Rockhouse, etc) & 5 minutes from Lake Hope which has beautiful trails. Perfect trip for families. We can’t wait to go back!
