Holiday rentals with lake access in Wisconsin River

After staying at Maddie's place, I went back through the listing to see what it was rated -- and was surprised it wasn't 5-star by other reviewers. I've stayed in dozens of Airbnb properties - and this one was a winner. Clean, quiet, private, and beautiful. It was the perfect place for my husband and dog to get a bit of R&R. We took a few walks, used several of the amenities in the kitchen area, and appreciated the water pressure and temperature for the shower. And the view alone was worth 5-stars.

Absolutely gorgeous cabin on a peninsula into the river, surrounded on three sides by water! One of the most tranquil places we have stayed, with all the amenities you could need. The kayaks/canoes were lovely and Susan provided so many other little touches we never knew we needed! Another plus to the rustic cabin is the built-in easy-to-use sound system which made for great memories singing songs together while cooking dinner etc. Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone planning a visit to Eagle River or the Northwoods of Wisconsin!

This place was absolutely perfect for our large family! Everything that was described as the resort having was available to us. Kayaks, paddle boards, boat tubes, lots of toys for children, outdoor play area for kids, great pool platform, and dock. We loved the location. It was peaceful and quiet, but so many things to do. A wonderful outdoor fire pit with wood available for burning and roasting sticks. The kitchen was fully stocked with all appliances and cooking utensils that we needed. We literally would not have needed to bring anything. We also brought our own boat up and the access to put in and get to the B&B was simple and easy and it worked out perfect for us. The only possible thing I could think of is if you are wanting to get to the big side of the lake versus the smaller peaceful one be aware of the size of your boat, as it may not fit under the train bridge. This place was absolutely PERFECT for our large family. You will not be disappointed with this place! HIGHLY RECOMM

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay! Kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and paddleboarding around the no wake lake. Would love to see how relaxing a winter stay would be.

All we could want in a BnB & more- very clean, quiet neighborhood, roomy with plenty of places to put our stuff away out of sight, comfy beds & furniture, sauna, hot tub, well-stocked kitchen, extra pillows & blankets & towels, tea kettle in addition to the coffee pots, and space in the cabinets. This is a place to truly kick back & just relax. The lake view was our favorite thing, and could be enjoyed right from the comfy couch- which was wonderful when the weather wasn’t cooperating. We really enjoyed watching the Great Blue Heron fishing in the shallows. Something we really appreciated was use of the attached garage. It rained a number of days while we were there, including while we were unpacking our car, and having use of the garage was great! This is a place that gets earmarked in hopes of a return trip.

This cabin was perfect for us (family of four-all adults). Very clean, had everything we needed and nice location. Nic is a super host…very responsive, friendly and helpful. The cabin had touches that really makes a stay nice: welcome basket, plenty of towels, comfortable beds and a fully furnished kitchen. Thank you for sharing your cabin.

This house is completely renovated and is set on Lake Mason (just 15-20 minutes from the Dells). The quality of the renovations (including a new pier on the lake) coupled with the cleanliness of the property, make it a gem of a find. The owner, Mike, is easy to communicate with. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be back.

We enjoy staying on Lake Callahan. Private and quiet location. Beautiful main house of Hostess and great cabin view and location on property. Fire circle and pier.

Clean, bright, well-stocked space in a very walkable area. We walked to dinner and along the river to see the sunset, biked the Green Circle and Tomorrow River Trails and had a great stay. Perfect space, great communication by hosts -10/10! Make sure you stop downstairs for coffee and breakfast too. Can't wait to come back!

Our stay at Loon Lake was wonderful! Janie was fantastic to deal with - very friendly and welcoming. Communication was great from the moment we booked. She shared helpful tips for us to prepare for our visit and made check-in a breeze. The property is beautiful and convenient to Hayward. The beds were very comfortable and the sound of the train only added to the charm. We would absolutely stay at Loon Lake again and plan to do so in the future. We loved our weekend getaway at Mark and Wendy’s cabin! The views were beautiful! Also, Mark and Wendy had great communication with us throughout the entire experience.

Very comfortable stay! Check-in was easy. The living room & kitchen space is cozy and the three bedrooms were large, with good beds. It was quiet and the AC/overhead fans kept us cool. I loved staying in the Lakeside neighborhood. We walked to Olin Park, down to Monona Bay and over to Monona Terrace and the capital, and to campus. Very centrally located for going anywhere in Madison by car. And the lovely Lakeside Cafe is just down the street. This place is a very good value in a great location.

Amazing stay! Took the time to go on the canoe multiple days. If you like going fishing, you can’t get closer to water than this. Amazing price for what we got! I just wish there were some more extra blankets (only 1) and a couple different sized bowls (like mixing or popcorn bowls). Neighbors were super friendly and would always wave.

This was our 3rd trip to Jolynne’s place and we can’t wait to go again! It’s a beautiful property and perfect for a relaxing weekend.

We had a great stay. The place was very comfortable, kitchen was equipped with everything you would need. Bed was comfortable. The house was immaculately cleaned. We give it 5 stars! We would definitely stay there again if ever visiting La Crosse again.

We loved the cottage. Started our Vacay out at a waterpark in the Dells. So this was a nice treat to come to the cottage and just relax. Alicia was very helpful with information and always got back to me quickly with any questions I had. The lake is Just big enough and crystal clear. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy the lake from kayaks to paddle boards to a paddle boat. The cottage was cute and quaint, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. Next time we come, we will bring our pups.

Quiet, restful, a country retreat that was just what we needed. Overlooking a beautiful lake, horses checking us out, great place for the dog to go for a walk (leashed of course, didn’t want the horse and dog to mix it up), Kathryn’s place was charming, cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

This setting allowed me to qualify my stay in this airbnb and honestly for my family and I, 5 points doesn’t qualify how great was our experience, we considered it is a 10. Cara’s Airbnb is a beautiful place, cozy, clean, spacious. It is a mixture of luxury/rural cabin that provides the perfect environment for the most enjoyable stay. We will love to return to Wisconsin next year and definitely we will return to Cara’s place.

Fantastic hosts with fantastic little cabin. Absolutely loved my stay. Super cozy and warm during the coldest snap of the year! Would be even better in the summer with the beautiful location, outdoor amenities, and classic cabin on the lake!

Absolutely beautiful property. Great to walk along the river and pond. Cottage is very cute with a great bathroom. We'd love to stay here again.

Really appreciate finding this fun little house. My 2 sons and I were in town for a hockey tournament and really didn’t want to stay at a hotel. We were able to bring our dog, eat healthy breakfasts and not hear all of the hotel traffic all night long. We walked to dinner Friday night and enjoyed how close we were to everything. On my early morning walks with the dog I got to watch an eagle fishing in the lake and deer walking right down the street. My only regret is we didn’t get to spend more time enjoying the place.
