Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Windermere

We stayed here when we were visiting the area for a wedding. It was a great location and incredibly clean and tidy. Staying here made the 7 hour drive from Devon very worth it and we would stay again if we’re ever in the area!

Just had an incredible weekend break at Jenny's gorgeous accommodation. I have seen other reviews saying that the photos and description doesn't do this place justice and I totally agree. The lodge had everything we needed, was perfectly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views from the balcony are breathtaking!! The location is so picturesque, peaceful and clean and extremely close to Keswick. We took full advantage of the gym, swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, which was a brilliant way to start/finish the day. Also highly recommend the White Horse pub, where I have eaten the best chicken burger ever! Jenny, thank you for the kind and thoughtful treats. We highly recommend your place to anyone!! xxx

We booked this accom very last minute(3hrs before we checked in), and turned out to be a great choice. Having never heard of Whitbarrow Village we did not know what to expect and was very pleased to find this apartment was part of a larger holiday village complex. The apartment was very well kitted out and had all mod cons you would want, some cleaning products and tea/coffee bits,plus a nice outdoor seating area and close access to the pool and games areas. The main reception building was very clean and the pool facilities were fantastic as well as the kids games area & cinema room (9yr old with us). Only a 15 min drive to Keswick or Penrith made it a great location just off the A66 but so peaceful & quiet. Friendly on-site staff and well maintained garden areas. Overall a great little find and will definetly stay at Whitbarrow Village again.

What a truly wonderful little place, there is so much to do for the kids and my two really did enjoy it! The apartment was absolutely stunning, spotless and also very spacious. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to book a trip away to the lakes be it with children or without. We will definitely be coming back!

Lovely apartment for our Lake District stay. Clean, bright and very comfortable, it formed a perfect base for what we wanted to do in the area. It's on a holiday complex so we could sometimes hear other people from the lovely patio area but this wasn't overly intrusiv, and the view is lovely. We ate in the on-site restaurant once which was fine. There is lots of free parking and four EV chargers which we used twice. The attractions of Ullswater, Derwent Water and Keswick are within easy reach - on a wet day we visited the Keswick Pencil Museum which we have not got round to on previous visits and found it surprisingly good. Overall this is a very well kept apartment which formed a very comfortable base for our short stay.

We had the most beautiful stay, we had a week of complete peace and quiet. We walked into Kirkby for dinner/drinks and this was easy with a little roadside walking before a public footpath to the centre of Kirkby. Everything at Rye Meadows was stunning, we will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.

We loved our stay. The apartment was not like the photos on the listing but it was nice nonetheless. Quiet, easy access to Lancaster, helpful staff, top facilities - we highly recommend the spa. Would like to stay again.

We went for a short break and it was lovely! The house was perfect for chilling out after a long day. Kitchen had a lot of things we needed and plenty of things to do even in the home! Perfect location, both towns either side of us with lots of options to eat and all within walking distance too. We were so glad we were able to stay here and hoping to be back soon! Lovely peaceful place, perfect for exploring the local area. The cottage was great and had everything I needed. Margaret even left a pint of milk on the doorstep for when I arrived. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family 😊

Thurnham hall is a great place to stay!

Such a lovely apartment. We cannot wait to return. The Pilates/Yoga room was a lovely addition. The only things missing were waste paper bins in the living room and bedrooms. A washer/dryer would be a welcome extra, especially after a hike or downpour. Stylish and superb.

Once inside it was a lovely space which suited myself,wife and two teenage boys and the dog. Shops just a short walk with a lovely bakery just a few doors down. All in a all well worth it.

Absolutely stunning! Perfect get away and stay for the weekend. The views were absolutely stunning and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful too. So peaceful, you can really get away from everything. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to explore too much as we didn’t have much time due to us taking part in the MacMillan Mighty Hike but we will 100% be back! Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Mark the host gave us super easy and clear instructions to get to, and get in the caravan which made things super easy. The caravan is absolutely stunning, so clean inside with absolutely everything you need, from plates, cleaning products, even a slow cooker and dishwasher. Everything was left for our one year old including a cot and blankets, and they even had bubbles, loads of games and books for all ages. The WiFi worked really well and honestly we couldn’t fault it. The site was lovely, although there wasn’t loads to do for the kids, they made use of the golf, football pitches and pool. The entertainment was decent and we even won £500 at bingo! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Travelling from Australia, this was a great safe spot to keep our motorcycles out of eyes view on the way to the Isle Of Man TT. House was beautiful, spotlessly clean. Appreciated the fresh milk, and bread for a quick breakfast in the morning. Was surprised that we could get an Uber and had a great meal at the Fleece Inn and only cost £6 each way. Would be a great place to stay for more nights

Stayed for two nights with my grownup children Had a great time, lovely location, did some walking to the cove and to Janet’s Foss Went to the pub which is just around the corner which was handy! The house was very nice with views out across fields We ate at the house both nights (we left it too late to book anything local) I found the large kitchen well equipped with all you need to cater for the 8 of us that were there. All in all a very pleasant stay, I would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely cottage in a quiet setting, about 25 mins from both Coniston and Windermere. The cottage is comfortably furnished with all the kitchen essentials for your break away. Steve was very quick to respond to messages both before the holiday giving us some helpful tips on places to go and during our visit as needed. We had a very relaxed time there with plenty to do in the surrounding area's.

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

Great place all-round. Everything was just as described on the listing and Dornu, the host, was incredibly friendly and helpful. A great place to use as a base for your trip to the lakes :)
