I stayed at Mark’s place while visiting my daughter, who’s in the Navy, and it was the perfect spot for some peaceful downtime. Even though it’s a shared home, the bedroom and bathroom felt very private and exceptionally clean. I was comfortable the entire time and slept well. The house itself is like walking into an art installation—colorful, unexpected, and full of personality. You never quite know what light or feature will come to life next, which made it fun and memorable. Both hosts are clearly creative souls with a flair for design. The backyard was my favorite part—lush with plants, fountains, and statues, all backing up to the Chesapeake waters. At night, it turns into a magical light show with just the sounds of nature and water features. So peaceful and calming. They even had a little breakfast area set up with bakery items and coffee—such a thoughtful touch. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind and restful experience.

So wonderful to have a lovely place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. Cute home, very comfortable bed and uncluttered, yet not spartan room. desk, tv, closet, bedside table and lamp and simple decor. Clean and quiet. I would hope to find the rooms available for future visits to Norfolk, VA. Yes in Ghent, close to ODU, downtown, and quick drive to Va Beach.

The location was perfect and was incredibly close to the public beach access. The host was quick to respond to any questions and gave clear and easy instructions. A warning: our van scraped getting in the driveway if anyone was in the middle since it had a large bump to get in, but we just let the passengers out before pulling in and it was fine.

If there were ten stars I would choose all of them! Irina was phenomenal! I contacted her for recommendations for restaurants and she replied immediately and was spot on! She even told me about a local farmer’s market with the best donuts ever! The living quarters were impeccable! Anything I could’ve needed was available. It was a short walk to the beach, which I really took advantage of. I was in town for a concert, which was a short drive. If I’m ever in the area again, Irina’s will be my go to! Thanks Irina 🌸🌸🌸
