Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Wensleydale

First Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. Great location (very quiet), clean, everything you could need and very homely. Janice was a great host and all instructions were clear. Great holiday, good value for money and would definitely recommend. Melanie.

We were visiting family nearby and were so pleased with this home. It was quirky and full of character. The secure garden was perfect and everything was so neat and proper. It had excellent facilities and the little touches like coffee, tea and milk were perfect. The fact that dogs are allowed was very welcoming and kind. The only thing was the main road was quite loud but just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be absolutely fine. It’s worth it for this property which has everything you could need in a very beautiful village. We would 100% return if we came back to the area.

Lovely cottage with gorgeous (dog friendly, secure) garden in a peaceful area. Cottage was extremely clean and the kitchen, whilst we didn’t cook, looked well catered for. Lovely dog friendly pub a few minutes walk away, which was very welcoming and lovely food. We look forward to visiting again when we are in the area.

A lovely quiet spot just outside the city walls. We'd happily stay there again.

Very happy with my choice. Cottage felt like home from home. Kitchen was well equipped with top of the range appliances and utensils. Both felt rested after the break due to the comfort of the beds and the peace and quiet of the area. Jackie was a great host, at the end of the phone for questions and advice. Will definitely book again.

We had a wonderful stay at Lee's property, it's very private and spacious and the hot tub down on the decking surrounded by trees gave us a feeling of peace and tranquility, the arga style cooker was very useful and we really enjoyed the convenience of it, all in all I would highly recommend it, the pictures on the listing are great but they don't do it justice.

The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The host was pleasant and responsive, making check-in and communication smooth. Parking was available on the street and easy to find. The neighbourhood was quiet, which made for a relaxing stay. Overall, a straightforward and pleasant experience.

A great place for a one night stay. Went to a gig next door so this was a perfect spot and location. There was some fresh food and drink left for us which was a nice touch. Free parking was easy just outside. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for our weekend. The accommodation was perfect, in fact we were taken back with how there cupboards were full off useful things…. Condiments, sauces, toiletries and that’s just a few I can mention. Appreciated the milk, bread, butter, nice gesture and makes a difference to some places who don’t offer that. Host also helped us out when our car broke down whilst we were there and went above and beyond to help sort it out for us. Overall the place was lovely, more than I actually expected, clean, tidy and perfect. Would definitely stay again if ever visiting Wigan. Thank you

Just lovely. The location of the apartment is in a little green oasis very close to Hyde Park. The apartment itself is actually quite big and very comfortable and warm. Best of all, breakfast - eggs, bacon, bread, butter, milk - were all provided so we didn’t need to nip to the shops for essentials. We had a really enjoyable stay. Thanks to Martin and Carmen, we will definitely come back.

I’ve stayed at this property several times now as I needed to be back near my childhood home. Any issues are always sorted very promptly and it has been literally a home from home for me. Thank you so much. I’ve loved each time I’ve stayed at the Old Red King.

Excellent place to stay. Walking distance into Ambleside town and lovely restaurants. The Airbnb was lovely, clean and quite spacious for the 2 of us.

Nicholas and Gabrielle were really responsive and friendly hosts, making us feel at home. Really appreciated the tea and breakfast items they left. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings made for a lovely relaxing stay.

Just back from three nights and we had such a wonderful time. The property is in a great location with it being walking distance to bowness but also secluded. Kitchen amenities all great, excellent spec bathroom and very clean all round. We had a couple of questions which were answered very quickly. Highly recommend and we will be booking again.

My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the beautiful lakehouse this weekend. The surroundings are just amazing and the house has absolutely everything you need and more. The private lake and woodland just topped it off - utterly beautiful! Paul and Victoria were brilliant hosts and very easy to communicate with. Couldn’t recommend enough!

My family and I (7 adults & 1 child) recently stayed at ‘The Cottage’ and we all agreed that it was a wonderful holiday. The house is beautiful, very spacious, spotlessly clean and was well equipped for all of our needs. The hub is definitely the kitchen, we enjoyed playing family board games around the dining table. The gardens are amazing we loved watching wild rabbits, squirrels and cows everyday. It was nice to see home grown vegetables and a herb garden too. Our grandson enjoyed playing football with his dad in the garden, jumping on the trampoline and feeding the fish. It is ideally located for travelling into York and not far from the designer outlet. Our group ranged in age from 2yrs to 78yrs and there was something for everyone to do at the house. We all really needed a family break due to recent illness and enjoyed spending time together making lovely memories. We hope to be able to stay again and thank both Neil and Adrienne for sharing their beautiful home with us.

A wonderful half term long weekend with our teenagers. Super quiet location, but close enough to Lancaster to make a dash into the city easy. Smashing property with jus the right mixture of character and modernity. Will be back.

Really brilliant place. Lovely house and great amenities. Really well stocked (unusual to have such good wine glasses!!). Well def use again!

Jerry was super responsive and responded within minutes whenever we needed something, which was really appreciated (even around midnight 😅). The house is beautiful, very well furnished. Hot tub was a favourite and the river is incredibly scenic.

Incredible place to stay, the location could not be any better. I would highly recommend staying here and will be back for sure.
