“From the moment we booked the villa we felt like we had made the right choice. The messages we received were pretty much instant, asking us what we were interested in doing during our short stay in Sri Lanka. After a few messages (with very speedy responses from the hosts!) our whole trip was planned for us with transport and excursions! We were greeted at the villa with a welcome drink and snacks. The villa was as described and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, we were even taken to the local supermarket to pick up some food and drinks. We enjoyed an afternoon by the pool. It was reassuring to know that there was a housekeeper on site who could help us with anything we needed and he was very helpful indeed. We would like to say a huge thank you for being so hospitable during our stay!”

“We loved everything in this house: the hospitality of the owners (they tried to help in everything, make our stay calm and serene, safe.) They helped us with advice, they took us to the station on the day of departure.) The location of the house (spacious house with new beautiful furniture, modern appliances is located in the mango garden where the birds, butterflies, chipmunks and lizards live. (We regretted that we arrived without a granddaughter) From the house to the sea 400 meters, to the supermarket, market and restaurants so much same. Sea (a chic beach with soft gentle waves)) We are grateful to the hosts for the wonderful holiday and I will all recommend this wonderful house.”

“My review will contain several parts and I have to say that it’s my personal opinion and some people may not be disturbed with things, which were inappropriate for me: What was good? The hotel is very clean and looks fresh, even though it was opened in 2009 (it really looks brand new). Communication through Airbnb was fast and convenient, Angelika even offered me to check-in earlier. Air-conditioning is working; rooms have all required amenities and even a fridge for drinks and small snacks. Bathroom is also nice and offers a shower and a pretty big sink. There’s a separate terrace on the roof where one can spend free time, work or read some books. Breakfast was tasty and portions were big. In few words, the hotel (and it’s a hotel) deserves 5 stars, especially keeping in mind the price. What was bad? Forget about the privacy. The owner will come to your room 3-4 times per day, knocking and ringing the bell until you open it (yes, sometimes for 5+ minutes). He will offer you breakfast (I agreed to take paid breakfast during checking in, so there was no reason to ask for it every single evening), dinner (you can refuse, but it won’t change anything), tuk-tuk to the city, black river, massage and other attractions. If you refuse one of those, you will be treated like a biggest betrayer on the Earth. I am used to plan my day on my own and I clearly stated to the owners that I came to work and relax, thus I don’t need any help. However, every single day I was asked a billion questions about what I wanted, where I planned to go and what my plan was. For me that was totally unacceptable. And the cherry on top of this “cake”: on the last day of my stay I refused all services offered and just continued my work on the terrace. At 16:00 I decided to walk around, but I found out that the hotel was simply closed and the owner went away. He returned only after 22:00. It was the first time in my practice when I was locked inside a hotel. And I am sure that was made intentionally, as a part of “being offended”. If you love privacy and distance, this hotel is definitely not for you. ”
