Enjoy and relax in the Frisian countryside? This is possible with us in De Oude Smederij, which was formerly a forge but has been completely renovated into a comfortable vacation home. The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

Farmhouse Okkingastate

Even helemaal er tussen uit? Dat kan op onze 200 jaar oude boerderij dichtbij de Waddenkust (Unesco WereldErfgoed) en de steden Leeuwarden, Harlingen en Franeker. Het Voorhuis van de boerderij is omgebouwd tot een royaal gastenverblijf met uitzicht over de tuin, weilanden. We hebben een biologisch melkveebedrijf en werken zoveel mogelijk met de natuur mee. Kom je bij ons overnachten dan kun je het boerenleven, de Waddenkust en Friesland, helemaal in je eigen ritme, ontdekken en beleven. Welkom!

Holiday home with pool and garden

Experience a great holiday in this comfortable and stylishly furnished holiday home with a private outdoor pool (heated April-October) and a covered garden terrace with a gas grill, on a garden bordered by hedges. Located in a quiet holiday park, the detached house offers a lot of comfort. A large living-dining area with kitchen and toilet on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms with a total of 6 beds, as well as a bathroom with whirlpool tub + shower on the 1st floor. Linen + towels included.

The peaceful East Pûnsmiet Chalet in an orchard

For those who enjoy being surrounded by nature, this peaceful chalet is the ideal place to relax. The chalet is very private and set in an orchard of just over a third of a hectare. (A pûnsmiet is an old Friesian word for a third of a hectare). It is a perfect place for those who want to indulge their creativity in writing or drawing. The beautiful views towards the dyke and into the orchard are unique in this Friesian landscape, where the sunsets are spectacular and ever changing.

Unplugged dike house – Fireplace and panoramic mudflat views

Word wakker terwijl het licht over de kwelders trekt en de vuurtoren van Ameland aan de horizon staat. Geen wekker die je haast. Geen notificaties die je dag beginnen. Alleen stilte, ochtendlicht en de geur van koffie. Dit vrijstaande dijkhuis aan de Bildtdijk in Noord-Friesland is bewust zonder wifi en tv. Niet omdat het niet kan — maar omdat dit de plek is waar je dat niet nodig hebt. Hier vertraag je echt. De haard brandt, de wijn staat open, en buiten hoor je alleen wind en vogels.

Tiny Farm House met hot tub.

Tussen de groene vlaktes van het Friesche Menaldum vindt u de uniek gebouwde Tiny Farm House met veranda inclusief hot tub. Deze grenst aan een traditionele kop hals romp boerderij uit 1880. Sinds 1980 runt boer Folkert de melkveehouderij waar 110 koeien gemelkt worden. Kom tot rust in de hot tub of neem een duik in de zwemvijver nabij. Ga met de veerboot een dag naar Terschelling of Vlieland. Breng een bezoek aan de hoofdstad Leeuwarden of stap op de fiets en verken de omgeving.

Church full of art in Wadden area

In the middle of the Wadden area is this former Reformed church converted into a recreational residence. Although the space has been modernized, all the characteristic elements have been preserved. From the beautiful beam constructions of the roof to the Art Deco stained glass windows. In addition, there are several works of art to admire in the hall. Within 20 minutes, you are in Leeuwarden or on the boat to Ameland. From the nearby dike, you can see Terschelling or Ameland.

Matjene's tiny house

Cozy and charming cottage, with its own entrance and a sunny south-facing terrace. Free parking. In front of my house. Inside, it is always warm thanks to the radiators, and there is also a wood-burning stove for those who know how it works. Then you can turn it on. Wood is there. Duvets are 2 in 1. They are washed every time. Small Air conditioning in summer. Within walking distance along the harbor. Is the city center (15 min.), station (10 min.) and the beach (20 min.)

Tiny Botanic House

Rust.., ruimte.., genieten! Prachtig gelegen perceel met tuin rondom de Tiny Botanic House met vrij uitzicht, op loopafstand van de Waddenzee. Het huisje is onder architectuur ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Op het rustige park, is een speeltuin, zwembad met kinderbad, 2 tennisbanen, een snackbar en restaurant. In de omgeving kan je heerlijk wandelen, fietsen, shoppen in Harlingen, Leeuwarden, Franeker en kleine dorpjes en overvaren naar Terschelling of Vlieland.

Gather in our spacious, cozy private residence within walking distance of the Wadden Sea. The perfect place to cook together and dine extensively with beloved friends or family. You can drink your wine by the fireplace or in the grape greenhouse, where you can sit comfortably outside all year round. Also in the large garden (with private parking) it is wonderful to stay in good weather. Base for the Wadden Islands, Harlingen, Leeuwarden and the Frisian lakes.

"De Mooie Liefde" Tiny house in Friesland.

Our "Beautiful Love" used to be the horse stable belonging to the centuries-old farm in which we live. In 2020, we transformed it together with a lot of love and passion into a tiny house with an old lived-in look. The green staircase leads upstairs to the beautiful loft with a 180x200 bed, with a double mattress and a double sheep wool duvet. Under the loft, you will find the beautiful bathroom and kitchen. If you want to look for a little more hustle and bustle, then visit the port of Harlingen. In Harlingen you can go to the beach, take the ferry to Vlieland and Terschelling, enjoy the view of the harbors, go shopping, get money and eat.
