"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

Lyts Kastieltsje, a quiet cottage in an orchard

Lyts Kastieltsje is one of our 2 properties. The other is the peaceful East Punsmiert chalet. Both are a short walk from the Waddenzee, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest tidal area on Earth. The cottage was once part of the cooling barn for the old fruit farm. It is surrounded by over a hectare of gardens, orchards and meadow which provide a home for our three sheep, bees and many species of birds. The orchards contain plum, quince, medlar and different varieties of apple and pear trees.

Farmhouse Okkingastate

Even helemaal er tussen uit? Dat kan op onze 200 jaar oude boerderij dichtbij de Waddenkust (Unesco WereldErfgoed) en de steden Leeuwarden, Harlingen en Franeker. Het Voorhuis van de boerderij is omgebouwd tot een royaal gastenverblijf met uitzicht over de tuin, weilanden. We hebben een biologisch melkveebedrijf en werken zoveel mogelijk met de natuur mee. Kom je bij ons overnachten dan kun je het boerenleven, de Waddenkust en Friesland, helemaal in je eigen ritme, ontdekken en beleven. Welkom!

Tiny Farm House met hot tub.

Tussen de groene vlaktes van het Friesche Menaldum vindt u de uniek gebouwde Tiny Farm House met veranda inclusief hot tub. Deze grenst aan een traditionele kop hals romp boerderij uit 1880. Sinds 1980 runt boer Folkert de melkveehouderij waar 110 koeien gemelkt worden. Kom tot rust in de hot tub of neem een duik in de zwemvijver nabij. Ga met de veerboot een dag naar Terschelling of Vlieland. Breng een bezoek aan de hoofdstad Leeuwarden of stap op de fiets en verken de omgeving.

Flower chalet

The Flower Chalet is located in one of the quietest spots of Recreatiepark De Friese Wadden with beautiful views over the countryside. Around the cottage are several terraces, so you can always sit in the sun and/or out of the wind ( here on the coast it usually blows). Guests of the recreation park can use the swimming pool, the large playground or a tennis court. Unesco World Heritage The Wadden Sea is only 2 km away. I hope you feel completely at home!

In dit gerenoveerde logement langs de dijk aan de Friese vaste wal kunt u volop genieten van de rust en de mooie natuur, grenzend aan de akkers met aardappelen, suikerbieten en granen en uitzicht richting de Waddenzee. Our beautiful comfortable Bakhuske is a small cozy apartment and equipped with every comfort. You have access to a small terrace, and you can also use the garden. Where you can enjoy the sun or, for example, make a fire. You can cycle and walk in the area. There are bicycle routes available.
