Monthly Rentals in Upper City Lake

This loft apartment is really cool! It's located in a beautiful historic building in "downtown" Palestine. The unit is spacious, immaculately clean, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. Everything was as described in the listing and Kevin always responded quickly to messages. I enjoyed a walk early in the morning in the neighborhood, which has old churches, the federal building, the courthouse, eclectic shops, and at least one really good restaurant (where I had dinner). I had not stayed in Palestine before, but a solo traveler, a couple, a small family, or a few friends could not go wrong lodging in this fine accommodation. I knew from the moment I walked in that it would be a memorable stay.

The property is so serene and relaxing. Such a calming environment. A lot of beautiful nature sounds…wind blowing in the trees, all kinds of birds singing, crickets, etc. Nearby there were the most adorable donkeys, gorgeous horses, cute chickens and a rooster. We spotted some precious deer. They have fish food available to feed the fish and turtles. They have a lot of games (indoor & outdoors), movies, books and magazines. They have 3 smart t.v.’s. Great bathroom and kitchen amenities. Also, comfortable beds. Very nice and clean and lots of great smelling candles. The huge porch was soooo nice with a ceiling fan, string lights, etc. It was nice to see the star filled sky! They have a pier by the water and also have a fire pit :) Palestine is 10-15 minutes away with a lot of shopping, restaurants, 4 hr train ride, etc. I would definitely recommend this host/place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely loved this little gem just a few miles north of Palestine, right off of Hwy 19! Clara's Cottage is exactly as described in the listing and is filled with country charm. It sets in a very peaceful and serene location, but just a few miles from the restaurants in town. The house was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We slept good! We plan to return anytime we are in Palestine. A big thank you to Wyma and Steve for sharing Clara's Cottage with us!!
