This is an incredible place to stay whilst in Vietnam, an oasis. So great to be able to ride bikes around the village and close by. Got to see farmers harvesting rice, ducks, the local pagoda just when the gong was being rung, a very special experience. And then there’s the food… the best we had whilst in Vietnam.

Joy and her husband were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. When we needed an early morning taxi 6 hours to an airport, they made some calls and figured everything out for us! Would 100% recommend to anyone who plans on going to Cat Ba. Especially nice being out of the main town because of all the construction going on there.

Gecko was an incredible host, always willing to answer any queries and assist with your bookings or bus transfers which were being offered at a fair and reasonable ale price. Had mopeds you could hire which is recommended to explore the island at ease as the homestay is outside of town centre.
