Holiday rentals with a kayak in Tortola

We'd been to St. John years ago and the rental we used in the past was no longer available. In looking for a place to stay for a visit this year, I was afraid we'd need to pay more than I'd expected. I was thrilled to have found the Seahorse and The Turtle as it was affordable and offered what we needed. We found the location to be perfect, it was on the Coral Bay side of the island but between the North Shore beaches and Coral Bay, making it convenient to the beaches or finding a bite to eat in Coral Bay. We found the cottage to be exactly as the pictures showed. It was clean and neat and included all we needed for our time on the beach, including the noodles that make lounging in the water more enjoyable. The line to hang swimsuits and towels ran the length of the deck and was perfect for hanging our things after the trips to the beach. The fact that the cottage was on a paved road, with the driveway at cottage level made travel and loading and unloading the car a breeze.

Can’t say enough good about Karen and her place. She’s a wonderful host and gave us great tips for around the island. She’s friendly and willing to help any way she can. We enjoyed our conversations with her. Her place is great as well. It has a fantastic view over coral bay and is serene and peaceful. It’s located in a great spot so nothing was too far away. We snorkeled every day and only used one tank of gas the entire trip. Her place was super clean and had a lot of windows for great natural light. We used the kitchen hard to save some money and everything worked as expected. Had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Heather was easy to work with. She responded quickly when we needed anything. They live on the property and you have access to them at all times. The kids are active on the level above the bedrooms but we left early everyday so it wasn’t a big deal to us. We used the house as a home base because we were gone from sunrise to sunset most days. It has a beautiful view from the deck. They do a great job providing all the necessities that you need in the house like laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, and even sunblock/bug spray. The roads in the area are bumpy and you need a lot of concentration especially at night . Definitely need an all wheel drive/ 4*4 suv or jeep.

Caron and Dave’s place is immaculate. We stayed in the lower level room and the pictures do not do it justice. St John is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world and our trip was filled with nothing but beautiful beaches, trails, etc. but Caron and Dave’s place was still the best view we had on our entire trip. The room was very comfortable with a dedicated AC unit and large bathroom. The private porch is the PERFECT place for a morning coffee, which we enjoyed every morning of our trip thanks to the coffee machine provided. The pool is perfect for cooling off with a drink after a long day in the sun. We were even stunned at how beautiful the view was from the parking spots up above the house. Caron and Dave - thank you for an incredible stay and we hope to be back very soon. Having rum and cokes, muffins, and fresh fruit waiting for us when we arrived was also so fun and appreciated. From start to finish we had a wonderful time at this home. Book VI provided a link to share with our group with the list of helpful pointers and recommendations from restaurants, beaches to shopping. The place was beautiful and well appointed and had comfortable beds too. We enjoyed using the beach chairs, snorkeling gear and the SUP while there. They had coolers too which came in handy for our beach outings. This place was about 15 min or so from Cruz Bay and grocery stores were nearby too. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay near Cruz Bay and enjoy seeing the stars, stay here. I highly recommend staying here.

Truly an awesome experience. Sequoia was a great host. He was accommodating, responded quickly and provided breakfast in the morning. I was able to snorkel with my own gear but he also provides his own gear and vest if needed. This stay is amazing but not for everyone. If you get sea sick, definitely bring medicine. You do feel the boat rock but it was pleasant for me. It can get a bit hot in the cabin. If you are not used to not having AC, definitely reconsider staying here. The fan helps but just a warning!

Everything about this cottage is perfect! The hosts, location, VIEWS, decor, comfort, cleanliness, stocked kitchen and lots of extras! We highly recommend staying here if you are looking for accommodations in Coral Bay. We spent a week in Coral Bay and were able to see most of the island from the cottage. You definitely need a car (we rented a jeep on St Thomas and took the car ferry over). We enjoyed a lot of hiking, snorkeling and hanging out at beaches. Just driving around you see breathtaking views everywhere you turn! We always returned to the house by dark (the roads are tricky in the dark). We loved sitting on the deck overlooking the bay at night, playing games (that are provided), listening to music and stargazing. The kayaks and the private beach were great too! We didn’t get to meet Fernando, but it was a pleasure chatting with Dorothy. Very quick responses to any questions and eager to make sure we had a great trip. Which we did!! We’d love to stay here again!!

We had a great stay with Mario - excellent communication before we arrived and met us to give us directions as we were familiar with the area. The house had everything we needed and the views from the outside patio and lookout are amazing. Would definitely return to enjoy this place again.
