You can get to some lovely hiking trails and a small supermarket on foot. More shopping options, a crystal spa with brine water and the Leuchtenburg castle can be reached by car within 10 minutes. The next largest cities, Jena and Gera, are 20 minutes away by car.

The Saalfeld fairy grottoes, the Leuchtenburg near Kahla, Jena, Gera, Weimar are not too far away. Here you can hike (the roads are also wheelchair accessible), watch animals or simply relax on the terrace. Infants up to 2 years old and children up to 6 years old are welcome.
