“Our stay at Pear Tree Cottage was so much better than we expected. Personal touches made this so comfortable for us and we greatly appreciated this eg a variety of bedding to use for the different changes in temperature which is great if you're a sensitive sleeper. Freshly picked raspberries we're given to us, yum! The coastal walks so close we're a huge treat also. Simon and Chris were very attentive and prompt with any needs expressed. So we highly recommend Pear Tree Cottage at Taroona.”
This beachfront apartment is a cosy retreat, self contained, with full kitchen, living room and spa. Ocean views from every room with immediate easy access to the beach. A quiet base for local coastal exploration: snorkelling, kayaking and walking the coastal trail.
“I would like to keep this piece of paradise a secret. There is no doubt the more people who discover this sanctuary at Taroona the less chance we will have of finding it vacant when we wish to return! Already planning our next visit - four days definitely not long enough. Nel's stunning home away from home has everything one could need. A tranquil beach/bush hideaway, 15 minutes from Hobart, a fabulous welcome, with treats in the fridge, an indulgent soak in the spa then off to sleep in a very comfortable bed to the swish of waves breaking on the beach. Can't get much better. Thanks so much to our marvellous hosts Nel and Lorne.”
Situated in Kingston Beach just a 15 minute drive from the city of Hobart with a 5 -10 minute walk to the beach and local cafes and restaurants. There are various walking tracks along the water. It is in a quiet area over looking Mount Wellington and Kingston Beach with views over the River Derwent including South Arm and Opossum Bay. Kingston is the gateway to the Huon Valley and Bruny Island a 25-30 minute drive.
“The place was very clean. It's a short walk to a beautiful view of the ocean and the view of the sunrise from the windows were amazing. It was thoughtful for the hosts to provide us with bottled water and a simple breakfast - bread, peanut butter spread, and milk. Communication with the hosts were also fast and clear. Would definitely recommend this place!”
