Holiday rentals with a pool in Tangalle Beach

Fantastic holiday with family! We had a great 2 night stay .. we enjoyed the hospitality and the villa. Mani was amazing and Kawshika cooked up amazing meals. It was peaceful and had everything we needed to enjoy the beach, pool and great family time.

We (family of four with young kids) came across this house and loved it, but it didn’t have a bed for our one year old daughter, so we sent Vic a message and he went out of his way to find one. Great start! When we got there, the house was even better than the pictures give away: private villa on the quiet outskirts of Ahangama, but a five minute tuk tuk ride will get you to the town’s centre where all the restaurants and such are. Modern bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, nice kitchen and living room, beautiful pool, huge patio with a roof over it, monkeys in the trees in the morning etc. etc. I contacted Vic several times during our stay and always got quick replies with great advice - places to eat, tuk tuk drivers, surf coach and places to see. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again myself some day!

We had a nice time. The garden is huge and the house was clean and we had a lot of space as a family. You can explore the surroundings on foot. Restaurants, supermarkets and the beach can be explored on foot. A great neighborhood and most importantly a very calm one. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime. The family even made us breakfast in the morning, which was incredibly delicious. We are very sad to have to go and keep the house in beautiful memory . See you soon , Anna and Tim

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Andy and Daniel’s beautiful pool house, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed – Andy and Daniel are the kindest, most thoughtful hosts you could hope for. The pool house itself is lovely, and especially our daughter very much enjoyed the pool. We tried the home cooked breakfast and dinner as well, which was delicious! Andy went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her warmth and hospitality made our stay all the more memorable. It’s rare to find an airbnb that feels so effortlessly welcoming. Can’t recommend this magical place enough!

We had a marvelous time at the Firefly villa. The house is really well furnished, and feels super welcoming and cosy. Patricja shared a lot of tips regarding local restaurants, activities and points of interests. She clearly contributed to make our honeymoon a remarkable experience. Would definitely recommend.

The location of the house was absolutely stunning. Right on the beach which was empty and felt like our own was dreamy, peaceful and idyllic. Lakmal, Dulan and Nihal were so helpful and attentive to all our needs. The breakfasts and dinners Lakmal made every day were absolutely stunning! We had so much variety and a real taste of Sri Lankan cuisine. They looked after us so well and arranged tuk tuks for us when we wanted them. It’s worth taking toiletries as these weren’t provided but honestly i would absolutely recommend this house as a great base to do a morning safari and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. Great value for money!

Really beautiful villa, great attention to design detail. Service was friendly and helpful and we can recommend the home cooking. The food was delicious!

A beautifully designed house, directly on the sands of a lovely quiet beach. Perfect for swimming, surfing or snorkeling! Views of the ocean can be seen from every room in the house. Our highlights were afternoon drinks in the pool, and champagne in the hot tub of an evening. The house is immaculate, and the staff are so attentive. The chef is fantastic, best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka! The house is walking distance to great restaurants, cafes and the very popular ‘Doctors House’. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Pavi, Bathi and their family and friends are the loveliest of people, always ready to help or offer advice when needed. Our apartment was situated on the 2nd floor and was lovely, bedroom and bathroom bare very large as is the kitchen diner, if there was anything you needed Pavi got it sorted asap, the grounds are immaculate and have a plethora of wildlife wandering the grounds, the use of the swimming pool was a great addition. Polhena itself is situated in a great spot for travelling out from and has a wonderful little beach(it does get busy at weekends). Shops are in walking distance as is the main town of Matara or a short fun tuk tuk ride. Colombo and other places are easily accessible via buses or train, both a fun way to travel. We will be back.

Don is an exceptional host, responsive and available at any time, the house is a jewel, large, clean and equipped, private patio with a very pleasant mini pool in the hottest hours, very quiet location out of the chaos but a 5 10-minute walk from the two nearby beaches (the least crowded in the area, including jungle beach surf spots). With a scooter (which I highly recommend) you can reach all the midigama and ahanghama spots in a few minutes and in 10 minutes you can reach weligama. The other pool is shared with other BnBs and you have to go through the private garden of the house next door, but it is a great place to relax and the few times we used it there was no one. Absolutely recommended
