Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Sveitarfélagið Ölfus

Fabulous property and perfect for our family of five. Very comfortable, we felt right at home, loved the furnishings and cozy beds. The location was very convenient to making day trips, close to groceries, and an easy drive to downtown Reykjavik. Nice views from the balcony, super quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Beyond our expectations! The house was perfect , clean, peaceful and felt like home. The host is so friendly and helpful and helped us feel settled right away. The Views were unbelievable! The Location was so nice for us as we were only in Iceland for 5 days but we got to visit so many places from Selfoss. I would go back in a heartbeat ! A great cabin for a large group - we had 6 adults with room to spare. No issues with hot water, but we ran into a late night flooding issue in cabin 1, which Arni responded to the next morning. Can prep a basic meal in the clean kitchen, lots of dishware available. Cabins are warm and are well insulated, with amazing views of that gorgeous lake. Pillows and blankets were so comfortable. This is a solid location for fishing if you’re into that, with an outdoor sink by the lake as well. We loved driving home and saying hi to the sheep, lamb, and horses. There’s laundry, which is great, but the dryer is less effective than we expected (if you’re used to American dryers) so just watch out for that. Internet is perfect from the common cabin but inaccessible from the others. Need to pack shampoo/conditioner/hair dryer. We loved our stay here but note: beware Google maps if it takes you on Grafningsvegur Efri and then Klifsskogur - a narrow road that closes (at night/always?).

We were absolutely amazed when we walk in to the house. Hjordis’s house is even nicer than in to the photos! House was very stylish, clean and cozy and with all little details which were waiting there for us we were really amazed. There were also provided everything you should need during your stay here. Also instructions was very clear so we didn’t have a problem with anything. It was also great location for our shorter Icelandic trip and we catch everything we wanted to see from there.

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

A beautiful and peaceful place in a neighborhood of new construction, far enough away from the crowd and tourists downtown but close enough to get there in 20min by car when desired. Easy access to the Golden Circle. Was perfect for my family and having two bathrooms was particularly nice. Communication was always quick and excellent.

100/100 in iceland! The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, even leaving us a handwritten note and it was such a thoughtful touch. also the kitchen was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home. Being escaped from the coldness of iceland, heating worked perfectly, and the cozy, warm atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and comfortable after a day of exploring. The location was in a peaceful neighborhood, and the house was spacious, giving us plenty of room to relax. Staying here made our Iceland experience even more memorable !! Highly Recommended for those who want home-like airbnb. it has EVERYTHING 👍

We loved Hulda's apartment. The location is perfect for your Golden Circle Experience as it's really close to all the main attractions. The apartment is cute, very clean and easy to access.Also three of us were very comfortable and a family of four could manage well there. It's less than five minutes from multitudes of great restaurants in what looks like an up and coming town in Sulfoss. I could not recommend Hulda and her place enough!

Excellent location - 20 minute walk into the downtown core, and there is a bus stop right out front (the buses are incredibly easy to use!). Great views. Quick walk to Nettó or Bónus to stock up on groceries. The free, easy, open parking situation combined with being located right on the edge of the downtown core make it perfect for visitors who want to spend time in Reykjavik while also having a convenient base for road trips. Nina is a good host. Would stay again!

Zoei's place was very comfortable and had everything needed for self catering including a fridgefreezer which came in very handy. The flat was warm and the bed comfy. Zoei was very approachable, accommodating and friendly, lovely lady. Less than an 20 minutes walk to Hallgrimskirkja church in the city centre. Very close to tour pick up stop number 12 Would most definitely stay here again. Highly recommended

Our stay at Brynja’s was great! She was very proactive about communication and the Airbnb was exactly what we needed. Some great tourist spots were conveniently nearby and others were not a long drive away. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you want to spend less time driving and more time exploring like we did!

Biggest concern we have when we travel is a good night’s sleep. One of the main deciding factors for choosing this place was that several people had commented on a comfortable bed. It did not disappoint. We slept great! Location was great for us as it was just outside the city. Host was super responsive and accommodating. If there was something you needed but didn’t have, she would happily get it. We would definitely stay there again!

Kristin and her husband were delightful. The apartment was perfect for the four of us. No television, which was great to be away from the media! I would definitely stay with them again.

This place is located few minutes from city center and parking avaliable. it was very clean and everything same as per photos. Check in was easy and overall comfortable.

Valdís place is just perfect - cozy, feels like home and with everything you need. Valdís was very helpful and nice. From the flat its a short walk to a nice hiking area and its also a short ride into the city (bus or car). We loved to stay here and when we visit iceland again we will check if this place is possible to rent 🙂

Amazing stay! The condo was so spacious, quiet, and clean - it had everything we needed! The shower was huge compared to hotels and other Airbnbs we stayed at in Iceland. Only an 8 minute drive to Sky Lagoon and a 10 minute drive into the city center. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We had a wonderful time in this cozy apartment. It was a nice location to be outside the city but have easy access to main roads and shops. We chose this place as it was walking distance to our friends' house. Heba's decor is very pleasing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The space is well designed for relaxation and practicality. It was easy to park our rental car in the driveway.

Brynhildur is very helpfull and a responsive host. The apartment as described is really clean and have all the necessarry amenities. The nearby surrounding is peacefull and quiet. There is a supermarket nearby. Reccommended to anyone planning to stay close to Reykjavík!

Styrmir’s house was beautiful and was everything we needed on our trip. It was conveniently located by several grocery stores, not to mention being very close to the city center. It also had very easy access to the major highways out of Reykjavik, making day trips extremely easy. Styrmir was one of the most helpful and communicative hosts. He was a font of incredibly helpful information and continuously checked in to see how we were doing. The cats in the house were one of the best parts. They were super cute, extremely friendly, and made the stay that much more enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Svært sentralt i forhold til det vi skulle. Anbefaler å leie bil, da ligger flere ting kun 5-10 minutter unna. Kjørte Golden Circle, som var svært vakkert, særlig da vi var så heldig å ha sol hele dagen. Nærme sentrum. Enkelt å finne fram med bil, da det er godt merket.

My wife and I stayed with our 16 month baby and had a great time. It is in a great community with lots of parks. The place was well stocked and had everything we needed for our toddler (high chair, crib, plates, toys etc.). We would highly recommend for a small family. Arndis was very responsive and helpful during our stay.
